Although the food is okay, very disappointed in the staff and management my granddaughter worked there and was being sexually harassed, another employee was slapping her ass and snapping her bra strap, and although she brought it to the management's attention and it was on camera there was nothing done about it, they shrugged it off , sad that they allow this type of behavior in the work place and choose to ignore it, now she has to look for a new job ,you loose a hard dependable worker, make your choices wisely before you end up getting yorself in trouble

Great Asian restaurant!!! Fantastic variety of Asian cuisine. Some Japanese and some Chinese even some Vietnamese. This is the place for you if you love Asian food. The staff here is very nice also and what stands out is their quality of service. I love seeing good service having been In the service industry doing fine dining for years. Always there for you. It's wonderful for a family dining experience. Defintely swing by for a easy casual bite! There bubble tea is great too :) ? My one feedback is their portion sizes are a little bit small for the price they should make them bigger. Otherwise will be back!!!Vegetarian options: Lots of vegetarian rice dishes and noodle dishes and tofu options !Dietary restrictions: Clearly labeled menuParking: It's right off the avenue so difficult to park

Very wonderful restaurant, I loved my chicken curry dish and the chicken stir fry noodles were also delicious. The spices and sauces were perfect! Best Thai food in New Haven. The boba tea was also extremely good.

Having had Thai from many many places in CT we were looking forward to trying Basil. We got takeout and here's how it went: 1. Pad Thai: 4/10. Very little flavor and very sweet. The noodles were almost completely white as was the chicken, when both should be golden from sauce and frying. 2. Massaman Curry: 8/10. Excellent flavor and variety of veggies in the curry (versus the typical carrots and onions only). I wish the curry was less watery to better coat the veggies. 3. Drunken Noodle: 6/10. Again not much flavor, and on the sweet side. A good amount of spice and a lovely golden brown. Overall: lacks flavor and quite sweet. There is certainly better Thai in New Haven.

Unfortunately I thought the review (posted on a delivery app) about this General Tso's Chicken being bad was an exaggeration so if you're about to order it as well to try it for yourself- no need. It is in fact very bad. The sauce somehow has no flavor while also having a faint peanut flavor??? The aftertaste it leaves in the mouth after is no good. The chicken itself has a thick coating on it which I don't think I would mind if the sauce tasted good. Maybe consider a new recipe altogether, this was a waste of money.

Pretty good. I LOVE that they have cuisines from different countries here. The indo food is quite unique. Big portions, fair prices!

What happened to this place? Ordered delivery. Uber Eats delivery was fine. The food however was absolutely terrible. General Tao's Chicken was completely tasteless and was mixed with broccoli that had a strange chewy texture to it. Cross this one off the list I say.

Basil is an EXCELLENT family-run restaurant and, perhaps, one of the most underrated Asian restaurants in the New Haven area. Out of all the places I've eaten at, this is the one I've frequented the most. The owners and workers are such delightful people and the service is always quick and friendly. Specific dishes I would recommend include their soy sauce chicken wonton noodle soup (with egg noodles - their broth is so light, savory, and yummy...perfect for cold, rainy days), beef chow fun, salt & pepper fish, and three kinds of meat (i.e. soy sauce chicken, roasted duck, char siu) & rice. Their prices are affordable and the dining area is neat and clean. My go-to place for a casual lunch or dinner!

Delicious food and great portions. Recently tried the Singapore noodles, and they were just the right amount of spicy! The staff is friendly and the prices are good. A must-stop if you're in town.

Made a Yelp account just to give them 5 stars. Everything you'd want from a restaurant. Well-priced and a good value. Staff is very friendly and helpful. I've been twice and both times I've had a delicious meal and the atmosphere has been good.
