Headed in on my way back to East Rock after a tour of the Yale campus. There were three young people working this afternoon, Sunday, at about 1pm. The guy at the register was watching football on his phone. I asked about the "layered espresso." He said it was layers of espresso and steamed milk. I paid and tipped before getting drink. It ended being plastic cup with several ounces of simple syrup, topped with cold whole milk and an espresso shot on top. I returned it and said it was nothing like he explained. I asked for a large coffee instead that was basically the same price. He said he "wouldn't charge me" and then proceeded to pour it and let it sit lidless while he checked the football score again. Avoid. East Rock Coffee is right up the street and the staff is much more attentive. I'd love to get paid for watching football, too.

People who work there are really nice. The neighborhood is peaceful. Prices are high and I would not rate their coffee as the best one in town.

Ordered egg cheese and bacon on a bagel. No egg, only in a blue state. Cold too.

Stale croissants, cortado dumped with a whole glass of milk and not made properly at all. Asked them to correct it and they said that’s how they make it. I’d recommend going to G cafe down the street. They had amazing drinks and food.

Natalie was sweet and efficient. Her suggestions were spot on for a first time visitor.

Pretty good coffee and liked they you can serve yourself all of the different milk substitutes. The atmosphere inside is quaint and lots of outdoor seating as well. Probably won’t get breakfast here again, bagels were sub-par.

At 930AM, Not very busy, the counters were grimy, it was like they were just wiped down, not with soap and water, not sanitized.I get that this is supposed to be a place that gets alot of college aged people in here and they hang out, socialize, use the Wi-Fi. However the furniture needs to be updated. As for the $15 price point for a Turkey Sriracha, and medium coffee, sorry take your business elsewhere. I would expect more of a conscious effort from a family business.

Coffee is okay, interior is sterile as an operating room. Staff are super friendly.

I just moved to the East Coast and all the Dunkin's are a nightmare. Blue State has some good quality espresso and pastries.
