Cask Republic is a great meeting spot in the heart of New Haven. I have been there for small groups, just meeting friends, all the way to a full restaurant rental for a large corporate event and everything in between. The staff and bartenders are always friendly, but more importantly really know the beer. They will spend time helping you get the right selection and seem to really care whether you like it or not. Oh - and the food is pretty darn good too. Love this place!
I ate here after a long day of driving. We got a few beers. The draft menu was pretty decent, some pretty funky stuff on there (kombucha ginger?). I got the spicy chicken wrap. The wrap wasn’t what I’d hoped it to be. The fried bit sloughed off and got soggy with all the other ingredients. The overall flavor was just missing something (what it was I’m not sure). My SO got the vermont style burger. He said it was mediocre, not worth $17 though. Each dish came with a mountain...
Always great food and awesome selection of beers and cocktails/whiskey! A win win. Great atmosphere during pandemic times- nice setup where there is enough space but it felt “normal”. Support our local businesses!
