Meh. Food was good. No Wi-Fi. Unimpressed.Didn’t know about any “devices policy” coming in. Tried to loop into Wi-Fi and was told that I couldn’t. I specifically came here to have a coffee/croissant and catch up on some work on my laptop. However, I was never told to put any device away, even when I tried to use my phone as a mobile hotspot for my computer. So maybe they’ve revised this policy.

Very lonely staff!! This is our go to place in the weekend. Sitting outside and feeding the birds is so wholesome. Vegetarian options: Great vegetarian/vegan options!

Great coffee, friendly staff, and a nice place to visit. I got a BEC sandwich and a cappuccino. The staff work hard to serve everyone quickly and keep the place clean. Thank you.

I cherish this little place as a second home and stand behind the quality as well as the fantastic service of the good souls who work there. The drinks are fantastic and the food is always fresh. I get a egg n cheese with tomato and sriracha on a poppyseed bagel, and its bomb. Fast and friendly, consistently so.

Very rude server and she got my order wrong. They remade drink was gross and she was certain to snatch the wrong drink from me. Even Starbucks isn’t this bad. Never going back!**UPDATE** I received a nasty, unprofessional text message from this cafe well after they closed on a Sunday night, which I think proves my point of the rudeness…the reply to my review is indicative of how the staff behaved.Response to Cafe: “I’m sorry you felt that way” is not taking ownership of you and your staff’s lack of professionalism. The drink was disgusting because it was made poorly, not because it was “too strong”. Mistakes happen. Please do not continue to threaten or contact me in anyway again and do not have your rude staff contact me in any way either or I will report you to the police, Google and the BBB. Once you properly apologize, I will update the review to reflect this.

The quality of the food and beverages can be hit or miss. Sometimes it’s the best cappuccino in East Rock, and sometimes the coffee is completely burnt. But it really bothers me that they don’t show the prices of any of the products. We spent over $35 on two coffees and two bagels…and it’s not like I’m going to ask the barista to tell me the prices for the 30+ items in small, medium, and large.

My coffee and croissant was not bad, but the Lemonade+Lavender was water with a couple of slices of lemon in it. I could taste the lavender, but I'm not sure I'd call it lemonade.

This is a very cute little coffee shop with a variety of pastries and breakfast items! We stopped in for some coffees and a muffin to go. The barista taking my order was friendly and we got our goods quickly!

East Rock Coffee has the best coffee in New Haven! I get their caramel iced coffee which has never disappointed and isn't terribly overpriced either. The Bacon Egg and Cheese was also good. Though the bacon wasn't crispy, and the bagel was likely store bought, the egg is fresh and works well with the cheddar cheese. I would still order the BEC again, but I'm looking forward to trying it on a croissant next time. The have fun bagel orders, like peanut butter and banana, or a pesto sandwich. Their pastries look fresh and delicious too, including their gluten free options. The workers are kind and the service is quick when ordering drinks. It's a small cafe, with very limited indoor seating but still has great ambiance, carried by the natural lighting and cute sketchbooks for those looking to doodle or leave a note while waiting for their coffee.
