Contois Tavern is a lowkey, sleepy bar known for its good burgers in the New Haven area. It's a casual, low-maintenance spot with an inexpensive beer selection and a character of an owner/proprietor/grill man. The burgers are one of the best in the area, often the only thing to eat besides chips, brats, and hot dogs. While it may not be suitable for a first date, Contois Tavern is a vintage dive bar with surprisingly delicious and cheap burgers, making it a worthy stop on any pub crawl.
