The food is exceptional…creative and delicious. Great drinks as well. Awesome place.
We were outside for the Last Octoberfest
Great fun
I feel like a lot of people don’t know that there really is an embarrassment of riches of restaurants in New Haven County. If you love good food all you have to do is look around here. Dad is the one who made the reservation at Fair Haven Oyster Club (I’m pretty sure you must make a reservation, the spot is small and if the weather is bad the only seating is the bar and a row of two tops behind the bar). I looked up the menu and it looked pretty SPECTACULAR.

Fair Haven Oyster Co. offers an absolutely incredible dining experience with some of the best fish, perfectly prepared, incredibly fresh, and full of flavor in every bite. The oysters from the raw bar are excellent, with the Pearly White being a personal favorite. The green curry mussels and clam tartare both possess a unique blend of flavors and are extremely tasty. The whole fried dorade is tasty and a good portion, while the rose cured salmon is floral on the tongue and balanced by the pistachio and mint. The grilled shrimp over polenta is grilled to perfection, with the polenta being silky smooth with a unique mussel flavor. For non-seafood options, the hamburger and fries are very good, with the burger cooked exactly to the requested temperature. Desserts like the date cake and angel food cake are amazing. The service is exceptional, and the restaurant has magnificent water views from a deck. The dining area is a bit small but comfortably heated. The restaurant sits on the edge of a dirt parking lot in a marina and can be a little difficult to find with no prominent street sign. Parking is ample, but potholes could be an issue in bad weather.
