Frank Pepe Pizzeria Napoletana

Got take out from their New Haven location on thanksgiving Eve. I called a take-out order at 7 with an 830 pick up time. The service was great and the Pizza very good. I remember that their Mohegan Sun location had slightly crispier pizza. Tonight their pizza was a little more “doughy” than I remember. It was cooked nicely, just not as crispy as it had been in the past which I liked. Overall very food and the indoor ambience was amazing. I loved seeing the coal fired oven and the rest of the kitchen!

The worst Pepe's pizza I have ever hadFirsy i called 2 hours ahead so it would be ready the right time. When I got there wasn't ready yet. I ordered 3 pies only 2!!! Asked how long to make another pie they said hours because so busy. There known for there.crisy char Crust They were missing some topping and no tomato sauce on any of the pieces whatsoever I had family members come to visit me because I have stayed for cancer and this is gonna be my last Thanksgiving. They were all wanting to go to Pepe's to try their pizza. I was embarrassed and highly disappointed after they saw it and ate it they were also very disappointed, they used to make it was outstanding. I went through my whole childhood with my family and all I can say is when you grow sometimes bigger is not always better. My family members will never go there again. Shame on you. They also charge me for a pizza that I did not get. I just kind of pushed me out the door because they had so many people there very bad customer service as well. Just totally disappointed totally.

Much more human in their approach. The other big pizzerias seem to not care much about the public. These guys make it easy and it was soooooo yummy.

Unfortunately it was weekend and we couldn’t get seats in the main dining room. We had to wait for an hour, so many people were waiting. We got place in the smaller dining room adjacent to the main building. It was crowded and it was extra busy because of takeout deliveries. We had to wait for another half an hour for our order because of the takeaway load. Wrong pizza with Macaroni was brought to our table, while we ordered Margarita pizza. Another 15 minutes and the pizza we were served was supposed to be thin but the one we got was uneven thin and thick pizza. We are regular customers of Pepe pizzeria but that was the first time we had this bad experience. Probably reasons I I described earlier were weekend with advanced reservation, the eatery we were accommodated was actually served as takeaway too. Otherwise despite so many people, they have plenty of parking.
