The employee needs to be advised how and what kind of meals he has. They could not confirm if there were foods for celiacs.

More or less an average chocolate Au pain. $4.55 or something. Bathroom was clean. Cafe is airy and had a decent amount of people seated but not too loud

This bakery is beyond overrated, it's subpar at best! The food was expensive, tasteless and cold; my Mother and I went to dine in for Brunch and were immediately disappointed and unamused, the best thing throughout was the prepackaged Welch's Apple Juice go figure!?

We ordered: two breakfast sandwiches consisting of bacon and eggs one scrambled and the other over medium, one with swiss and the other with mozzarella on so-called buttered brioche which in reality was a stale, flavorless bun, the sandwiches were encased in dripping grease and the eggs were poorly cooked and not as requested, had to send sandwiches back and they still weren't as requested and were not good! The napkins that the sandwiches were placed on were also completely covered in grease and disintegrated because of the amount of grease, for dessert we ordered: a regular croissant, pain au chocolat 'chocolate croissant', 2 slices of the most disgusting 'wannabe NY Style' crustless cheesecake I've ever had in my life yuck and as a side my Mother ordered: what was supposed to be chicken noodle soup, the soup was cold, tasted like tap water with a ting of yellow coloring 'NO flavor at ALL', there was barley any chicken and what was provided had no flavor, the vegetables and noodles were non-existent as well - absolutely horrible. No compliments to the short order cook because it's obvious they're not a chef!!

The manager Maddie was completely ignorant, unprofessional, condescending and very rude however, the female cashier and male barista were very polite, helpful and professional. The entire order was $57+ a waste of money, time and energy. Never again! The manager thought she was someone special and had airs about herself, this wannabe uppity place is a total joke and a facade of what they try to imply as upscale, too laughable. I called and asked to speak with the owner and it's been two weeks and still no response. Poor service and unprofessionalism, no wonder management throughout all it's bakeries has been a revolving door?!

Lastly, the manager by the name, Kim in the Branford, CT location is also quite rude and was absolutely of no help and provided opinions that we're not only useless but, meritless as well. She has the audacity to state rudely when I last spoke to her, "Well, I don't know how to assist you!" Added insult to what was already and injury!! SMH May I reiterate NEVER AGAIN!!

I visited G Cafe Bakery East Rock with high hopes for their Cronuts, having ordered one the night before for pickup. Upon arriving on Saturday morning (June 15), we were ignored by the staff and had to wait several minutes before anyone acknowledged us. When placing our order, the card reader malfunctioned, and the staff member cleared it without a word, then proceeded to serve the next customer, making us feel unwelcome. It was evident she did not want to be there, making for a very unpleasant experience, and I regret having left a tip.

The outdoor tables were not properly cleaned despite the recent rain. The staff and clientele had an air of superiority, which was disappointing and unwelcoming. If I wanted such pretentious service, I would have gone to Brooklyn.

The owner claims to offer a European cafe experience, but perhaps the staff need training in Europe to achieve that standard. Thankfully, there are many other cafes and bakeries in New Haven, and I won't be returning to this one.

P.S. The Cronut was okay, but it wasn't worth the poor experience in service and atmosphere.

Come for the bread and the ambience. Not a gourmet coffee joint.
