You know how to cook a pork chop perfectly. Also, the grilled octopus was terrific. We look forward to dining with you every time we come to New Haven.

Haven't been here in years. I was very glad that it was just as good as I remembered. I would definitely go back again soon and not wait years.

Took our son and a couple of his friends on Friday for his Birthday dinner. The atmosphere and experience felt like an authentic Italian dining experience. All the food, from starters to dessert, was excellent and quire reasonably priced. Only room for improvements ... felt like being pushed to order dinner before cocktails had even arrived, which did take a while, and son's birthday was not acknowledged, even though we had listed with reservation and reiterated with confirmation.

Food was very delicious, genuine Italian flavors. Service was great, very attentive and accommodating.

We had read good reviews about L'Orcio, and it lived up to all the glowing reports. The food was wonderful, the staff was excellent, and the overall atmosphere was quietly indicative of a fine dining experience.

Warm welcome when we arrived. Quality of the food was excellent! We were not rushed. Courses were spaced out. Very fair prices considering the quantity and quality of food. Can't wait to return and eat outside! L'Orcio is a hidden gem in New Haven.

My family's favorite Italian restaurant in New Haven - tough task given how many greats there are! Food & service is great every time and it's my go to recommendation!

We have many of times, restaurant was not full many empty tables however they insist stickening us at a two top when other couples came in and had choice of tables we waited at least 20 Minutes for the bottle of wine we ordered . From there we waited at least 30 Minutes for dinner AFTER receiving the wine. Food was good as usually ( portions a bit smaller ) waiter brought check and never came back for payment. Hostess was very rude when asked her to check us out . Have gone for years there so disappointed on our date night .

Been wanting to come to this place for a while and finally carved out the time to go. Wednesday afternoon seemed to be a perfect time to avoid a crowd. Started off the meal with the formaggi platter - great cheese selections (although one of the cheeses was a touch too dry) and the fruit bread was delicious. For the main course, each member of my party got a different pasta dish: I got the chicken cacciatore, my mother got the ragu, and my boyfriend had the sausage gnocchi. All dishes were wonderful, traditional, and delicious. Pasta was phenomenally cooked and the flavors were great. Out of the three, the gnocchi was probably my favorite. We ended the dinner with three different desserts we all split. All three (tiramisu, lemon tart, and affogato) were delicious. My only note for dessert was the crust on the lemon tart was too much, other than that it was delicious. I will be coming back here when looking for good, traditional, Italian food.

The "secret garden" could not be a lovelier setting, offering shade and tranquility. Service was cordial, professional and attentive. While the menu could offer more pescatarian choices, there is an offering for every palate. It is a lovely spot, particularly at this time of year, for those who really enjoy dining outdoors.

Our service was slow to none at all. We thought that this place was posted "classy" making my husband change clothes 3 times to fit that bill. We got there, parking was almost "non existent" and it wasn't set up for handicapped challenged people. The receptionist was dressed poorly, she had on very short cutoff jeans and spandex leggings, she told us we could pick our spot to sit, which we did. I asked my husband about sitting outside and he said that the reservations called that "special seating". A young man came to us after waiting for about 20 minutes. He said Good evening but he didn't apologize for the wait, he didn't ask if we would like a cocktail, he put a menu on the table and told us they were specials for the evening and just proceeded to stand there. After a few minutes, he asked if we would like water, told us what types and he was off. We saw him one more time then we had the waiter standing behind him. Mt husband said the service stunk, I told him it was obvious they were training him but mu husband said the service till ws very very bad. The food was excellent on my part, my husband said the sea bass was good but he picked several bones out of it, he spinach tasted bad and he felt the potatoes didn't belong with his dish. Overall, the experience was not good, my husband didn't want to leave a tip but I talked him into leaving the standard 15%. My daughter wanted us to call, then my husband sent me this to review. It was a special night for us, we celebrated our 47th wedding anniversary but no one knew that but us, we thought the service would be exceptional w/o us having to tell anyone. We won't be going back to this restaurant.

The atmosphere outside in the garden is relaxing and beautiful. The food is incredible and so are the cocktails. The homemade gnocchi melts in your mouth and the other pasta dishes are delicious. Appetizers and dessert were also amazing.

Took my husband here for his birthday and everything was amazing. From the delicious food, to the attentive service, and the beautiful atmosphere on the back petio. Couldn't have asked for a better experience and a more satisfied appetite.

To preface, this restaurants food is fantastic and I would typically give this place a five star review.

When I arrived at the table, I was asked if we wanted any beverages to which I responded, "Water is fine". I was asked if I wanted sparking water or still water, and I answered that I wanted still water. We got a bottle of water and dinner went on like usual and the food was fantastic! However, when we received the bill, we were charged 7$ for the bottle of water. I think it's very reasonable to assume that "still water" would mean free, non-sparkling water since there were zero indications that it would be any type of premium water that would be charged. We were never given or informed that the water given to us would be charged, and we would've asked for free tap water if we were informed we were getting the latter.

We will be coming back because the food is genuinely really good, However, I would really appreciate it if we were informed that the bottled water was going to be an extra charge, rather than blindsiding us with a extra charge.

TLDR: Ask for the "free water" so you don't get charged for "premium water".
