You need to put smoked turkey in your collared greens or beef and this will make them better but other than that the rest was good.

I’m Glad I tried this restaurant I STARTED with a VEGGIE PLATE But when I got there I added Catfish. The Fried Catfish absolutely DELICIOUS Yams & Collards AWESOME Potato Salad & String Beans AMAZING.

All they give you is hog logs and they charge you $25 and say they give you chitlins. You might have two or three pieces of chitlins, but it’s all hog mog. someone please show me where the chitlins are

As a New Yorker who grew up eating at the legendary Sylvia’s, my expectations for soul food are incredibly high. Honestly, after a few poor experiences at other spots in the area, I was starting to lose hope—until I dined at Mama Mary’s this evening. This place completely restored my faith in the New Haven food scene! The facilities were immaculate, the prices are absolutely fantastic (especially in today's market), and the food is nothing short of amazing. It honestly feels like a new-generation take on the classic comfort food I grew up loving. But what truly sets this place apart is the hospitality. I was chatting with our incredible waitress and mentioned how disappointed I’d been with other restaurants nearby. Hearing that, she took it upon herself to make sure I left happy—blessing me with a huge plate of fried chicken and some truly delectable cornbread to sample. The service was unmatched, the vibe was warm, and the food speaks for itself. Mama Mary's is an absolute gem. I will definitely be back!

This place is a complete rip off they should be ashamed of the macaroni and cheese or the cheese and macaroni The chitlins had more hog maws than anything they should be ashamed charging someone $25 for a small container of chitlins when it's 98.9% hog maws. I asked the cashier what type of cake they had in the cooler and she didn't even know they're charging you $6 for a slice of cake but I noticed they got my cake from the back and got me the smallest slice I'm like no I don't want that for $6 I want a big slice so I took one out of the fridge it was horrid I think it was the fruity pebbles cake. just terrible such a rip off and none of the food tastes good I don't think there's anyone black in the back so I don't know why it's called Mama Mary's cuz Mary is not there Don't go there save your money
I have enjoyed a variety of meals; the pigfeet and barbecue ribs. Both were delicious.

I’ve been getting takeout from Mama Mary’s for many years and except for a catering incident at Thanksgiving a few years ago, the food has been excellent. Today I got the turkey and stuffing and it was truly terrible. The stuffing is always fantastic but it was just okay. The turkey was very dry, green beans had zero seasoning and my rice and gravy was just white rice, no gravy! Not to mention the portions were 1/2 the size we normally receive. I’m so disappointed to pay $60 for barely edible food. I do not know what has happened but I hope they read these reviews. As of now, I will not be returning.
