Ozzy's Apizza hits different, without bailing on that New Haven style. When im in the area, it is mandatory to grab a pie.
Many options available not just pizza.

Ozzy’s Apizza at East Rock Market – Respect Served by the Slice

Second visit to Ozzy’s, this time rolling in with the Slice Mob, and it only confirmed what I already knew, Lou’s the real deal. No gimmicks, no shortcuts, just respect paid the New Haven way: through damn good pizza.

Ozzy’s lives inside the East Rock Market, a cool, community-driven space full of local spots; coffee, food, good energy everywhere. It’s laid-back, social, and exactly where you want to be when great pizza hits the table.

We started with the buffalo chicken, built on Lou’s housemade sauce, bold, tangy, perfectly balanced. Then came the half-sauce, half-mozz pie: simple, honest, and flawlessly executed. Bright tomato, creamy mozz, and that two-day fermented crust with the perfect chew and char.

This round, we also went big with The Swanson, a carnivore lover’s dream stacked with flavor, and The Gene Parmigian, a chicken cutlet lover’s fantasy, crispy, cheesy, and pure comfort.

Lou doesn’t need to talk up his food, it speaks for him. Each pie is proud, passionate, and crafted with heart.

At Ozzy’s, you don’t leave the table hungry. You leave the gun, take the pizza.

Tried it last week. Based on the reviews, I was expecting the second coming of the pizza gods—but in reality, it’s just a step above your average downtown electric-oven spot. Solid, but not mind-blowing. I’d give it a 6.7 on the one-bite scale.

Can’t say enough great things about Ozzy’s and the team! The pizza was fantastic and everyone was incredibly kind and helpful. They went out of their way to make everything easy, and I even enjoyed a great conversation with one of the staff. Highly recommend!

If you’re hunting for the best pizza in New Haven, don’t sleep on Ozzy Apizza. This place is the real deal. The pizza comes out with that classic thin-crust apizza style, charred just right, with a tangy red sauce that actually tastes fresh and a cheese pull that doesn’t quit. Every bite has that smoky New Haven edge that separates the legends from the imitators.

The crust? Strong enough to hold up without folding into a soggy mess. The sauce-to-cheese ratio? Dead on. It’s got that perfect blistered bite on the rim, the kind of detail that tells you someone in the back actually cares about doing it right.

I’ve hit 70+ pizza spots all over, and Ozzy’s stands tall with the big names. This isn’t tourist fluff—it’s authentic New Haven pizza through and through.

Bottom line: I’ll be back, no doubt about it. If you’re serious about pizza, Ozzy Apizza deserves a spot on your must-try list.

I’ve lived in New Haven for over a decade, and Ozzy’s made me fall in love with New Haven pizza all over again. By the time you’re a bite in, you’ll be checking the box just to remind yourself what you ordered because the pizza is that good.

I love that all their specialty pies are fun and themed. every one I’ve tried has been a 10/10. It’s also super cute that they write your name and the pizza you ordered right on the side of the box. And the mascot? Adorable. I kind of want one for myself 🎀đŸ„č

Ozzy’s proves that even in the pizza capital of the world, you can still be surprised and find a new favorite. 🍕🍕

FYI The Mikey Rabbit doesn’t mess around with garlic đŸ§„â€ïž caveat emptor. Don’t change a thing. đŸ€€â€ïžđŸ’Ż

Our family was doing a New Haven Apizza comparison test. At East Rock Brewery and tried to order take out from Sally’s. Waited on line for 30 min and couldn’t order by website as so busy. Saw Ozzy’s and decided to give it a try. The chef and co-workers were just the best. They totally hyped their Apizza and were so proud to show us their style. We were not disappointed. Crust was perfect thin and charred, sausage and hot peppers Apizza was insane. Clam Apizza delicious. They even noticed we had a dog and brought him pepperoni treats. Also quick service and so much cheaper than the big 3. Ozzy’s is our new No. 1!!!
