My date (total MILF) likes live music and we heard a guy whaling on a guitar from the street and went it. A small place but we had plenty of room. $5 cover is insignificant these days and worth it for live music. Parking is close by and it costs $10. Guitar player and drummer were the stars of the show. I'd go there again.
Been going here for years Bartenders are awesome, the people are friendly and inviting plus they have a range of shows from open mic jam bands to dubstep and house/techno edm. Front end usually has the live performances so it can get noisy but back room and smoking area is always quiet if you need a break from the noise. Drinks are on the cheaper end compared to places like Bar and Rumaj. No better place in New Haven if you’re looking for a chill vibe or a great night out.
We organized a birthday party at Stella Blues and highly recommend! The venue is great, and the staff absolutely fabulous - super helpful and just overall great. Shout out to our bartender for the evening, Sarah, who did a fantastic job! All our guests raved about the venue and we all had a wonderful time.
