Came here when I was 18 and the food was amazing . Most of the times there would be a line out the door . Only if they was on Uber eats I’d order from them all the time !

Fantastic experience at the Pantry! Will defintely be back :) have been here multiple times and they make you feel as if you're at home ? . Friendly staff and a great menu. Nothing fancy just some hearty food. Clean bathrooms available and outdoor seating as well! The fruit available is also surprisingly delicious for a diner. If I could give any feedback it would be bigger portion sizes as they are a little bit small. Otherwise wonderful place defintely recommend for a casual meal ?!!Vegetarian options: Breakfast is the way to go lox and veggie options.Dietary restrictions: Labeled menuParking: Parking lot is tiny pay to park or pay for street parkingKid-friendliness: Super casual for kidsWheelchair accessibility: A little bit tight for wheelchair is my only other feedback.

The food and service are good, but the real downsides here are 1) the cost, 2) the tight space, and 3) the immense inconvenience of having to pay cash in this day and age. Overall, the place provides a tolerable experience, but I didn't find it worth the crowd, the price, and the monetary inconvenience, especially when other similar restaurants (e.g., The Neighborhood Cafe) nearby don't have any of these issues.

Notwithstanding apparent popularity, the place offers outright inedible "food" and we will never return. What you get on the plate is truly miserable.

Just alright. The food was cooked well but sooooo bland. I could save the Benedict with some salt and pepper, but the French toast tasted like nothing. The service was fine except we weren’t told until after we ate that it was cash only. The hazelnut coffee was good and the staff is friendly. Food came out quick despite it being busy.

Small jazz themed breakfast spot, seems to have been a part of this community for a long time. Pancakes were okay. Service was very quick and attentive. It is cash only! ATM inside.

We checked in for a table of 3 and were told it would be 10 to 15 min. Someone from the restaurant came out and told a group of 6 it would be a few minutes. As we stood there a group of 6 decided to not wait. And 2 groups of 4 came to check in. Two other 2 tops that came after us were seated. But then they started seating the 4 tops, telling us they were waiting for a smaller table. After 40 min wait a person started calling out several names and got to ours and rudely said are you still here? We said we have been waiting for 40 minutes and he said it wasn’t his problem even though 4 tops got sat before us. Rude!! Food and our actual waitress were great. Cash only policy is very inconvenient.

Title: A Tasty Morning Treat with Room for Improvement!I recently visited The Pantry for a quick breakfast experience. I was able to grab a seat at the bar immediately where a nice little space was made for me. I appreciated that service. The star of the morning was the Banana Chocolate Chip Pancake. The combination of sweet bananas and rich chocolate chips was a taste bud celebration. The only drawback was that it could have spent a tad more time on the griddle to achieve that perfect golden brown exterior. Nevertheless, it was a delicious.Moving on to the classic 2 Eggs Breakfast with Bacon and Breakfast Potatoes – a staple that, for the most part, hit the right notes. The eggs were perfectly cooked, and the bacon was crispy and flavorful, just as one would expect. However, the breakfast Potatoes, left me yearning for a bit more excitement in the seasoning department. A touch more flavor could elevate this side dish from good to great.Despite these minor points, the service was prompt and friendly, and the ambiance was cozy – creating an inviting atmosphere for a morning meal.In conclusion, I see why The Pantry is a New Haven staple. I'd visit again if I found myself in the area.

Such a warm and homey brunch spot. Waited about 10 minutes for a table for 3. Tried the cinnamon roll pancake (comes as a single, double, or triple stack) and was sufficiently full after having one! The cinnamon and buttermilk taste. One pancake is $5 which is unheard. The eggs benedict was also tasty, and the fruit is your choice (not extra for berries). The homefries were also very well prepared. Good crispy skins without a lot of smokiness. Great spot, fast service. Only note is the place is cash only.

This place is very small and cozy. They only take cash. But the food and the service are impeccable. The cinnamon pancake is delicious. But my go to is the salmon Benedict with a rasher of bacon and avocado on the side. It's a great place for singles or couples.

Nice Ma and Pop breakfast place. Food was delicious. We waited less than 15min for a table. Waitress was friendly and hospitable. We got a short stack, Florentine Benedict, and the California Benedict. Fresh ingredients. Should note that the place is CASH ONLY and they have an ATM inside.

The pantry was a very cute breakfast spot! It is very tiny so if it gets busy while you're there just have some patience with the servers. The food was great for the price! The only thing I wasn't fond of as far as the food went was the breakfast potatoes but everything else in the pictures was great! The coffee was 10/10.

I visited here on a Monday morning with my two kids and my Godsister. It’s quite small inside so we were happy to go on a slower morning. The food was delicious! We ordered omelets, plain pancakes, chocolate chip pancakes, potatoes, and a fruit plate. Everything was fresh and tasted so freaking delicious. The one annoying thing is the restaurant only takes cash which is frustrating in 2023. They do have an ATM machine that we were able to use but then, of course, we had to pay all those ATM fees. The cash only issue is the reason why I rate my experience as a 4 instead of a 5. It’s an inconvenience for those operating in a cashless way.
