Always a first class experience! Has to be the best restaurant in New Haven without question!
Amazing experience, delicious food and unparalleled service. The attention to detail right down to the personalized cards for the birthdays we were celebrating with photos from NHV's East Rock Park. Thank you! 🙏
Excellent balance of sophisticated atmosphere and warm welcoming staff led to a comfortable refined dining experience. Menu selections, food preparation and presentation were all excellent. Service was professional but pleasant without pretense and noise level allowed normal conversation . Reasonable price for value.
Best restaurant in this part of CT. Excellent menu choices. Food was delicious and beautifully presented. Service was outstanding. Be prepared for a relatively long wait if you order the soufflé (to be expected).
Atmosphere and service very good, food not so much. My wife and our two friends ordered the fish and it was overcooked and dry. I ordered the lobster and it was also overcooked and tough. The meal was definitely not good and absolutely not worth the price. If you want the ambience, then go, but if you want great food, skip it.
Food was delicious (as always) and service impeccable (as always). A favorite restaurant for celebrating special occasions!
As restaurant prices skyrocket everywhere, what the Union League offers is a relative bargain. The food & service are not just good, they're remarkable. The staff is gracious but friendly, & the ambience is lovely. A truly unique dining experience!
Yellowfin appetizer got my girl all feisty. We both wolfed down the filet which was the perfect way to start our night 😏
I checked the box for our anniversary and they had a card waiting and gave us some macarons as well. Such a nice and unexpected touch. The night and the food were exceptional. Could not have been better! The service and sommelier were excellent!
To my mind, Union League Cafe is one of the greatest restaurants I frequent. The food is consistently superb. The ambiance is peaceful and warm. The service is terrific. Okay, it does not use bizarre ingredients apparently necessary to get a Michelin star. Still, its traditional dishes are all excellent, both in preparation and in presentation.

Went for brunch for four. It was almost full house but quiet. We had shrimp cocktail, salad, duck confit, beef frites, crème brûlée and seasonal strawberry napoleon. Quality and tasty food, friendly service. Will definitely come back when we are next in town.
One of our favorites! The food and service are unrivaled anywhere. Just a wonderful experience!
Always provide the worst table can be offered. While so many tables are not occupied. Always try to squeeze 2 people party to the worst corner and treated with worst services. I strongly suggest you to train your wait staff to respect the 2 people parties. The business is slow and very sadly to see your service quality has become the lowest level people can tolerate. What a shame to keep on operating the restaurant at such a clientele crowd.
We have eaten at Union League many times. Our experience this time was a little off, probably because they are remodeling and had to locate their restaurant to the upstairs ballroom. Little things were missing. They always serve a fabulous cosmo in the shaker and pour at the table. Not this time. They always have excellent decaf English Breakfast tea which is brewed loose in a pot. This time, they said they had it, but then had no decaf black tea at all. The food was definitely good, but not to their usual standard. Finally, the dining room felt very tight. The tables were just too close together; we could hear every word of every conversation that our neighbors were saying, and our waiter had a hard time even reaching to our table.
This restaurant never disappoints. Food was delicious and expertly prepared. The beverage service was slow for the capacity that night.
