Cheese bread they gave us in the beginning was tasty. Tartar was ok. Beef fillet - I asked for medium rare, but it was too rare and very hard to chew. Totally not worth $65. Wasn’t impressed with food but the place is nice. Might give it one more shot by ordering sth else.

We went for our anniversary and it was fantastic. We sat in the main dinning room by the window. We loved that they gave us a “happy anniversary” card when we sat down. The food tasted great and we can't wait to come back.

I went for lunch on a Saturday with my adult son. We both had a soup and salad. My French onion soup was good but not great. It could have been a touch warmer. The real disappointment was my coffee. It came in a French press, but looked like dirty water when I poured it into my cup. I did not share this with the waiter because I didn't want to make a fuss in what was a special lunch,

The service staff were friendly and tried their best given the Resturant being very busy and packed! We ordered drinks( fine)! Ordered bunch of appetizers ! The French onion soup could be improved! Not the best tasting soup! Partially ate! The octopus was tough! Presentation was excellent! Need to learn how to make it more tender! Could not eat after one bite! Salads ( orchard & beets) were excellent! The nuts were stale ( old) it ruined the rest of a great salad! Foie Gras Torchon needed some side sweets to balance the taste ( the apple was sour, seemed vinegar infused) ! Quality was great! Presentation, nice! Escargots en Croûte was nicely presented! Not the best that I have had! Yet ok! I have been there before with their tasting menu and it was great! It was not offered this time! Thank you for challenging yourselves to be at your best every time!

Truly outstanding meal and wonerful ambiance as always there. A little disappointed in service, particularly for drinks. Perhaps they need an additional bartender. Also, my “Sazarac” was not drinkable. Had a strong licorice taste.

Union League is the best restaurant in NH. The renovated space is beautiful...the new bar in the back is fabulous (what used to be a service bar and some makeshift, overflow seating). We've been coming here for many years and it never disappoints. Food, wine list, service are all outstanding.

This is by far the best restaurant in New Haven and one of the best restaurants we have been to anywhere. The food, drinks, and ambience are all top-notch. However what really sets the restaurant apart is the stellar service from the professional and caring staff. Coming here is truly a memorable experience.

Arthur was and always is outstanding! From the moment we walked in the doors he greeted us with a, “happy anniversary” and handed us a handwritten card wishing us well on our 16th anniversary. He offered to take our coats properly. He is an exceptional employee who truly cares about every patron that walks in the door. People will forget things they are given but they will never forget how you made them feel. Arthur made us feel like family and we will never forget that feeling. The food is top tier and never disappoints. This is the classiest, nicest place to go in New Haven and you will not be disappointed.

Haven’t been to union league Cafe in 15 years. Had a wonderful dinner last night and it did not disappoint. Food was exquisite service was wonderful atmosphere is beautiful. They have renovated the space. Treated like royalty. Best chicken I have ever had. The new owner has kept its reputation and quality. Beet salad was phenomenal.
