When I have vegetarian or vegan friends visiting- we always get food from zaroka! I have tried a lot of their veg and non veg dishes by now and no duds! ?

The food and service are unebeatable. The owner, Mahesh, is incredibly considerate and kind. He was super accomodating with our catering order and made our event really special. The food was to DIE for! I'd give six stars if I could!

Have tried it 3 times hoping to love it and each time it's fallen short. The waitstaff are friendly, the owner is selectively friendly and the food is unfriendly to the palate. If you eat here, stick to dishes that have to be prepared fresh and avoid anything fried. Go with a full wallet.

Sooooo good. Just had to get an understanding of their spiciness scale. I like to order in between hot and Indian hot. The staff were very helpful and attentive and we had a great chat with the owner Mahesh. Can't wait to go back to try their chicken wings next time!

The food here is amazing! They have plenty of choices for both vegetarian and meat eaters. The sauces are very flavorful. The service is also great. I love their non bread.Parking: We went on Sunday. Parking was free.Wheelchair accessibility: This place is not wheelchair accessible.

Great place to bring multiple people. All food is wonderfully prepared and authentic. Staff members are very considerate. Food is infinitely customizable to your needs. Atmosphere is great. Paintings and such hung on the walls make it feel like home. Food tastes like homemade.

The bhindi masala we ordered had okra that was like biting into a stem. It was so raw. The naan here is soft and not toasty at all.

Very well-prepared traditional Indian fare—excellent spices and seasonings, lovely smoky flavor on tikka, widely varied menu with many vegetarian offerings. Ambience and decor very simple, but clean. Trendier New Haven Indian restaurants with more modern menus overshadow this traditional place, but the food here really is excellent.

My cousin started this place in the late 90s and sold it on a few years ago. I went there after almost 10 years. Unfortunately it’s rundown and seems to fallen into disrepair. The bathrooms were gross, the carpets are dirty and worn out. The dining upstairs is accessed via a steep narrow staircase with worn dirty carpets. Food was okay. We ordered a chicken curry on the bone which was risky and didn’t payoff. Got mostly bone and gristle very little meat and was over salted. The kulfi machine downstairs was great!

Excellent. Some of the best Indian food I’ve had in a long time (even coming from nyc). Highly recommend the paneer bhurji.

One of the first Indian food places I tried in New Haven, and always a welcome favorite. It is a very cool restaurant- with a house looking outside and comfortable upstairs which is where dinners are normally eaten. The portions are delicious and large in size, and great for sharing.

The best Indian food. The sweetest service. Family owned. A New Haven gem for decades. Lovely handmade decor.

Do not eat here. Terrible discrimination against individuals with disabilities. They refused to seat me and my certified service dog for my medical condition. They asked me and my family to leave on the account that my disability is not "visible". This is a literal violation of the law and the Americans with Disabilities Act. The owner should be ashamed of himself. This has never happened to me in all my years of having a service dog.
