Jake's Diner on State Street

Jake himself came and introduced himself upon arrival. I asked him to recommended a meal. He asked a few questions and then brought me a steak and cheese omelette with home style potatoes . He shaves the steak himself and it is delicious. My husband had the Reuben. Gracious portions and great taste. Enjoyed our stop here tremendously!

One of a kind

People there are great home fries made soft for older people can eat so if you're looking for crunchy home fries this is not the place

Just happened by this place. Got an ice tea and egg sausage breakfast wrap. It was really good. Tea was perfect and wrap just hit the spot. Was thinking on way home it was best bite of food I have had in a bit.
It’s a mom pop style diner. Love the family vibe with all the photos.

Early lunch on a sunny Tuesday. The home fries were crispy and the burger cooked to perfection. But the highlight was our server, Zoe, who was attentive, quick and excellent. We absolutely loved our time here and would recommend Jake’s to any and all in the area. Easy to get to off the highway as well.

We are from out of state, this was a great find! Homey atmosphere, wonderful staff, and great food. Kim was wonderful, very friendly and accommodating. She handled our table of 7 with a warm grace. Highly recommended food and ask for Kim!

Classic diner with all American dishes. Employees were kind and had a nice communal feel. I enjoyed my hungry man dish for under $20. Worth visiting for breakfast cravings.

I have been back in Dayton Ohio for a little over 2 years. I have tried to find a place that does breakfast as well as Jakes. I have found one that I like very much, but I have never seen eggs done over easy as fantastic as Jakes are. We were living on Fishers Island for 19 years before we moved back and we would take the ferry as often as we could . Jake and his family are welcoming to all.

As I was really looking for a.great experience, unfortunately the service was not of a great diner. The waitress there were nice but when asked if I wanted more coffee I said yes and I thought she went to get the pot but started talking to other customers. Never came back. And never checked on us after breakfast plates where served.
