I have eaten at most of the restaurants in Southeastern CT, and have found that LA LUNA RISTORANTE & LOUNGE in New London is head and shoulders above the rest! The menus is diverse, and food and drinks are always good and presented professionally. The dining atmosphere is pleasant with table cloths, and low lighting on each table. Plus they have live music on most Fridays from 6-9 pm. Try them out...you won't be disappointed!
My sister was in town visiting from Maine and stayed at the Holiday Inn. We went to La Luna for dinner and drinks. 5 stars isn't a high enough ranking for the absolute amazing service we had. This gem of a spot needs more love from the locals. Our dinner was absolutely delicious. Additionally, one of my biggest pet peeves at a restaurant is the staff complaining and there was NONE of that going on here. They all helped each other and it was awesome. The whole experience was fantastic...read full review

La Luna Ristorante in New London offers a cozy, inviting, and pleasant atmosphere with table cloths and low lighting. Located within a hotel, it provides an unexpectedly amazing culinary experience. The menu is diverse, featuring outstanding food and drinks that are always good and presented professionally. Specific standout dishes include the lobster filled ravioli lunch, the best lasagna special, delicious gnocchi chicken soup, a chicken, sausage and pasta dish, and the filet of sole francaise special. The amazing cold seafood salad is considered a top-five meal. The garlic knots and pesto sauce provided upon seating are a real scene stealer. Happy hour offers a really great deal, such as a drink and appetizer for ten dollars. Live music is available on most Fridays. The staff is wonderful, sweet, and helpful, contributing to a 10/10 experience. Despite potential wait times on weekend nights, it is a restaurant highly recommended and worth a special trip.
