The place is similar to going to a dining room in the market of some Chapín town, the food is good but it is not like in Guate, I go sometimes but it is not to go to celebrate a special occasion either.
The food leaves something to be desired, I think it was a bad day for the kitchen, I had eaten here before and the food was good so I would have to try it again and hope that the quality of the food improves.
My wife is Guatemalan and a viral video on TikTok from influencers @lingandlamb drew us to El Quetzal. We live in Toronto and made it a goal to visit here if we ever came to Connecticut. We were in Guatemala last year and the food, service and atmosphere made us feel like we were back home! We had the Sopa de Mondongo, Sopa de Pata, as well as the Atol de Elote & Horchata. 5 star all around experience! We will 100000% be back!
