We’ve been customers and FRIENDS since Dagmar opened. We try to go every Saturday for her scones. They are awesome! We’ve also had her stollen and several other tasty desserts. I recommend Dagmar’s to anyone who wants consistent excellence! Dagmar is always there to greet her customers with a warm smile and makes you feel like you’re an old friend. We took a half-day trip to Old Saybrook and decided to stop by Dagmar’s Desserts after lunch. The bread pudding (the last one available) was one of the best I’ve ever had—packed with raspberries and drizzled with chocolate ganache. The portion size was perfect for my daughter and me to satisfy our sweet cravings. It was absolutely divine!

Oh, heaven!!!! If you're visiting Old Saybrook, be sure to stop in to this lovely old-timey-with-a-modern-look bakery!!!! A local resident I chatted with (we both wanted to order one of EVERYTHING in the display case!), recommended the scones.
I immediately launched myself over to the other display case and ordered the cranberry-orange scone and a cup of coffee.
The scone was delicious! Light, flakey, and the perfect combination of sweet and buttery. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!!
I had tremendous difficulty NOT buying up lots and lots of baked goods (we're traveling, otherwise...).

What a wonderful experience! We ordered a special cake and were so pleased at the quality, attention to detail and service. The cake itself was beautiful, exactly what we wanted with a buttercream that was absolutely marvelous and at a good price. We needed a baker for a celebration at the shoreline even though we live in central CT. Beautiful shop to meet up for a treat, however, we ordered a 12 inch round cake (for up to 30 people), and the baker was so accommodating, worked hard to meet our needs. The cake was delicious. Everyone loved it and it came out with lovely details of gold throughout the cake design. Very happy we decided on this place.
Everything we got was very good! Berliner donut was soft and quite delicious.
