Hank's Dairy Bar in Plainfield, CT, is a true gem deserving of a resounding 5-star review. Since 1957, it has been an iconic establishment in the area, eagerly awaited by locals every season. Always a nice place to stop. I enjoy their food and soft serve ice cream with the hard cherry shell. There's a small play area for the kids their as well so it gives them something to do while your waiting for your food! It can be crowded sometimes if you have time it's definitely worth the wait.

The only thing missing is the roller skating car hop. Excellent casual food and atmosphere. Open seasonally but always busy because there is a good menu, priced fairly and prepared well.Kid-friendliness: The outside tables and surrounding area are kept clean, there is ample space between tables so parents need not worry if they are bothering others. The menu is great for kids.
