Last night 4-23-25, my family came here for my late grandfather's birthday, who had passed away in September 2024. My grandmother had been here before many times with him, and loved it. Saybrook Fish House continues to be a favorite spot known for great food and excellent customer service. The seafood remains delicious, and the homemade salad dressing is a highlight. The salad was outstanding, and the fruit was ripe and sweet, often served as a delightful surprise at the end of the meal. The restaurant offers quick and professional service, with dishes like stuffed mushrooms that are fantastic, though sometimes overwhelmed by too much white pepper, which can affect the flavor. Despite occasional delays, the staff often compensates by offering a complimentary dessert and wine, enhancing the overall experience. The cozy, if a bit noisy, atmosphere remains welcoming and friendly. The restaurant still includes bread and salad with each dinner entrée, reminding guests of the good old days, all while keeping prices realistic and affordable. Some staff may have bad nights, but overall, the service is generally marvelous, making each visit a pleasant experience at Saybrook Fish House.
