Market Place Kitchen & Bar - Shelton

Ordered a salad for delivery and asked for no crispy onions and it was an allergy cause I am celiac and so is my mom. The driver who did the delivery told them what the item was but not the allergy’s and my mom got gluten

Food was good. We were looking forward to the Brussels sprouts but they were sweet. We couldn’t understand why BRUSSELS SPROUTS NEEDED TO BE SWEET. Sorry caps lock got stuck on my phone for a sec. 😬

So I ordered the Mac and cheese for my children today which normally are done with mezzo rigatoni then I received elbow macaroni and they tried to make me think it was always elbow macaroni. I mean seriously!!!

Okay folks...I have always liked Market Place, but sad to say, this was probably the worst dinner out I have had in my experience and they have lost me as a customer. The Mussel Pot, which was my favorite, was cold. My steak arrived, was bland as all, and I was served well before my mother who was dining with me. We waited, and waited, and finally when her Short Ribs DID come, they were not seasoned, it was like boiled meat, and the Au Jus was a oily, watery, disgusting mess. We had it sent back, because thats what you SHOULD DO with that kind of meal, and then, when the food did come, and we both had finished my bland steak, we were just done. Two hours in total. I am kinda shocked. I expected the Chef to come and apologize but the WAIT STAFF did it. Bruh...
The ONLY praise I can give is to the wait staff. You guys are never to blame and performed excellently. On a final note, I feel sick to my stomach. Literally. I won't get gross but you shouldn't feel physically sick after eating out at a restaurant that has this kind of reputation. I don't like leaving bad reveiws but unless someone pays for me next time, and even then, because I feel sick, Market Place's prices aren't worth the effort for the quality. Ill be visiting another establishment next time. Tonight was over 100$ dollars for THAT, folks...

Visited this fine establishment tonight. Visiting from MA. I pretty sure it is a farm to table restaurant. Everything was very fresh and tasty. We arrived at the perfect time. Happy Hour. I ordered a glass off wine my husband beer along with Blackened Chicken Nachos not a disappointment. Then for entrees my husband had salmon I had pasta with butternut puree. Definitely amazing due to the fact it is homemade pasta. My husband’s dish was delicious too. Would definitely recommend you visit. Our bartender Yvonne was attentive and friendly along with a beautiful smile. Keep smiling Yvonne! Until next time we are in the area. Thank you.

Had a 6:45 reservation last Sat night . We were not seated until 7:20. Guess there was a problem with their reservation system? They could have offered us a free app or free desserts? Your reservation system is not our problem. We should have been compensated in some way for our inconvenience!!

Under rated. The restaurant is very nice, service was great & from the maple drizzled bread all the way to the dessert the food was awesome. Also loved the espresso martini. Will 💯 return.

Went on a Wednesday. Easy to find and plenty of parking. Menu options were great and I was able to sit right beside the fireplace. Perfect spot for a gloomy day. Great service, food, and drinks. Dessert was divine. Definitely recommend and will be returning.

Been here few times and the food was excellent especially the burgers, apps, and pasta. This most recent time I had the steak sandwich which was terrible. Seemed like they used the tough fatty pieces to make it. The service was top notch. Had Noah D. Who couldn’t be more attentive on a crowded night.

Great food and service. Enjoyed the music and atmosphere. Been to marketplace in both danbury and shelton and this location blew me away with how nice it was inside. Everything feels brand new and a great place to watch a game or have a sit down lunch/dinner with family

This is my first time at this place and I will say it was very beautiful, the food was fantastic, and the ambience is very nice! Loved my sweet and spicy chicken bowl! Will def come again!
