My husband and I came in to have dinner and we were told that we can’t sit at a 4 top tables because the server will be upset at her. We explain to her that the last time we were here we were sat at a 4 top table with no issues. She then continued to apologize and again stated that the server would be upset. We said thank you and went about our business. Never again will I come back!! I was hangry!!

Very nice place. Lively atmosphere. Similar to other local spots. Wings were good. Burger needed more flavor, but it was ok. Nothing really stood out, but it is a solid choice to hang out. The atmosphere was great.

I come to Spotted Horse often, is convenient, great service and good food. However, during our last business meets I order the Spata. One of the best vegetarian dish I’ve had, outstanding.

Pretty nice atmosphere but the bartenders could not have been less friendly and engaging. I'm not going to say who was working the night j was there. But SH management should know that the bartenders, at least for one night, could not have been less engaging or friendly. Customer experience matters a lot. You don't get a positive customer experience when the staff acts like that. Food was decent at least.

First time visiting the Spotted Horse Tavern. They don't take reservations. However, the wait was about 20 minutes to be expected on a Friday night at 6:00 - I'm glad we waited the atmosphere is is warm and inviting for such a large space. The horse barn theme decor was spot on LOL sorry had to?. Service was great food was so delicious. We ordered the roasted eggplant stack - the marinara sauce was spectacular!! I hope this review is shared with the chef/chefs my kiss to all of you it's very hard to find a good, simple marinara sauce at restaurants that doesn't have oregano in it. The Bang Bang Shrimp Budha ??? was equally as delicious large portion BTW for those who like to take leftovers. Loved my spiced pear martini was one of the best ones I've had. I can't wait to return for their summer vibes outdoor game time fun. Great job, spotted ? can't wait to come back!!Vegetarian options: Based on my first time there I do feel there were enough vegetarian options.

We've had many lunches at the Spotted Horse in Shelton. I raved about it two years ago! Now, I don't think we will return. It's quite pricey. Google doesn't have a rating for value. It has gotten pathetic. Once I had the scallops and they cut them in half so it looked like there was more. Yesterday I paid $33 for a pasta and halibut entrée. We all know that pasta is dirt cheap. The halibut I got was not a filet, it was bits. The largest piece was just bite-sized. The rest were half bites. I dug around in the pasta to find that there was hardly any halibut in the dish.We had the brussels sprouts (again) as an appetizer, and this time they were burnt and greasy. The last time they were undercooked. I was a bit surprised they even served them to us. I don't know why I didn't send them back. We picked through them, and I my pasta and fish, so at that point I did not want to complain or send it back.My wife's salad was old lettuce. All the ends of leaves were brown. Then they did a tiny dollop of cold dressing that was buried in it. Her hamburger was okay.Service was adequate but the server never asked if the food was okay. Actually, he didn't serve us any of our food. Many times I've felt the food was overpriced. We are used to eating out at fine dining restaurants too.Lastly, the music has been intrusive and it was screaming, heavy metal crap most of the time. Once, I asked them to turn it down. Management is making a big mistake. It's often tasteless noise.I've had all I can stand of this place. Sometimes the food is very good, but lately it sure hasn't been worth it.

This was our first time at this establishment. We arrived and located the venue without problem. However, the front entrance isn't clearly marked. Once inside, we walked through a curtain...my guess to keep the cold out. We we're greeted and seated promtly. Our server was great and understood the assignment of our food choices. However, we enlisted the service of another waiter as we didn't see ours, and I didn't care for the attitude. It wasn't indicative of all prior experiences that evening. It has a bar area and a lovely gas fireplace with seating. The appetizers and entrees were amazing. Overall, I'd recommend this place it has a nice industrial esthetic seemingly kid friendly and great parking.

Went for Sunday brunch. The food was fantastic. The service was almost perfect. My only complaint was the hostess leaning against the window on her phone not acknowledging the customers having to walk past her to leave the restaurant.

Gastro pub fare at its best. Not inexpensive but worth it for the quality of the food.Kid-friendliness: Not really geared for kids (It is a bar) though I'm sure they could be accommodated.
