I have been here many times. They have great sandwiches and hot food every day. Everything is sliced fresh or prepared that day and made or assembled in front of you by there large staff of deli experts. It is as Italian as you can get and everything is delicious. My favorite go to is the Kovac's Special. I chicken cutlet sandwich with fresh mozzarella, prosciutto , roasted red peppers, sautéed broccoli rabe and some balsamic vinegar. Over 25 years ago Gaetano's opened in Stratford CT and I have been a customer since day one. Now I live out of state but every time I am in CT you can see me at one of the locations Stratford, Shelton, or Westport.

What more can you ask for. Good staff, good food, good prices and this is the day before the superbowl, they won't be any busier this year and they gave us all their attention.Vegetarian options: There are a few vegetarian options, but they were happy to make any vegetable combination I wanted. The sandwich I got had plenty of quality cheese and roasted red peppers. It was my first good experience at a deli in a long time.
