The location is great the inside is nice but the amount they changed for food is way too much. It does not encourage repeat visits.

I will never go to this restaurant again! They had menu items that weren’t available (oxtails). The appetizers were barely room temperature. We waited almost 1 1/2 hours for salmon and wound up having to get it to go. No one asked how everything was going during our wait. We were told that our meal would be out in 3 minutes and still didn’t receive it 25 minutes later. They didn’t even comp our mediocre drink for the delay. When we finally ate our salmon, it was overcooked and bland. The mashed potatoes were bland too. The only nice thing about this restaurant was the decor. We wondered why the restaurant was empty at 8pm on a Saturday night. Now we know why. Save your money and time. Go to Burger King and have it your way….warm, on time, and flavorful.

I enjoyed my dining experience and the food I ordered from La Perle. My wife and I often look for restaurants from different cultural backgrounds than ours and haitian food was on the list. The stewed chicken and fried pork is a must go to. Have to have it for yourself to know.

My friends and I came here to celebrate an an engagement 05/19/24. The customer service was extremely poor. We had reservations for 6:00pm and when we got there we were told it’s only a private party and after giving them push back they had a table set up for us upstairs. Our waiter never introduced herself. She was extremely rude & complained about everything! She kept telling us that she wouldn’t give us more to go containers for our cake b/c the to go containers were for food only and apparently cake isn’t food. Again we arrived at 6PM we didn’t get our food until 9PM! & some of us didn’t get food at all! The waiter messed up our orders and she kept catching an attitude everytime we told her our order was wrong. This is our first and last time having a dinner here. They treated us poorly! And it was a party of 14 & the customer service was awful. If you’re having a party or celebration please go somewhere else! Please go to a different place. They never apologized for the food coming late. They never apologized for their poor customer service they kept telling us it’s our fault. Yea avoid this place at all cost. We spent over $700 and we could’ve spent that at a place that would’ve treated us better.

Upscale Caribbean restaurant, food is good. Portions are small though. If I got FRESH Fried Plantains it would have been 5 stars.

We ordered off the menu and was told after waiting 15-20 minutes only to be told they didn’t have what we initially ordered. Ordered something else and after 15-20 minutes was told they didn’t have that item either. First and last time to Connecticut.

I used to love going to La Perle with my family. I wanted to eat something tasty just like it used to be when they first opened. I purchased 3 goat platter and got goat grease for meat. The meat was so tough, gamey, nobody could eat it. I also purchased 3 platters of chicken fritters. There was no chicken in it, the dough was so tough the kids couldn’t even eat them. The black rice looked like they used food dye instead of mushroom. The rice was undercooked. I spent over $100 for dinner in this time of inflation, all of it go to waste. I never see the owners in there anymore. Owners please make sure to check on your staff because the quality of food is not there anymore.

Learned about this Haitian restaurant a while back, it’s a gem. Had a dinner party there and it was great. The food and drinks were excellent. Only slight negative was that our assigned attendant didn’t speak much English. My family speaks a similar kreyol so it was ok and the owners were around to assist if needed. I highly recommend the griot and the bread pudding. Nice spot to try top tier Haitian cuisine. The zouk and konpa music selection was also a nice vibe.

Parking: This is a short one way street with meter parking but it’s luck and chance to get a spot. There is a parking garage on the next block right behind the restaurant with a 5minute walk back to the restaurant. It was $1 per hour so very reasonable.
