This restaurant has gone COMPLETELY down hill over the years this particular spot USE to be my favorite place to eat 3 or more time per week. Tried to give Golden Krust the benefit of the doubt in correcting there mistakes and unfortunately it’s worse from the outrageous prices to stale old food I refuse to pay almost 30 for a large oxtails when the food is more like a small medium portion! Most of the women are rude and not trained properly in customer service! Will buy my box of oxtails from pappi and cook my own oxtails until I find another worthy spot when I don’t feel like cooking! Will never spend another dime in this place!

I visited the restaurant today. And got a large oxtail with rice and peas to my surprise I found chewed up bones at the bottom of the container.. unbelievable.

I wanted to share my feedback on this golden krust. I stopped by yesterday, June 24th, 2025. The day after my bday because I wasn't in the mood to cook. I looked around at the choices and asked a guy who was standing right in front of the food if one of the dishes was stew peas. Not realizing he had his phone videoing the food, he looked at me and didn't answer. Instead, he put his finger on his lip and shushed me to be quiet. I looked at the two ladies and employees who were at the register in disbelief because I couldn't believe he had just shushed me to not speak because he was videoing the food. The ladies quickly apologized to me and took my order. After this man did what he did, he looked at me without saying anything, not even an apology, and went back inside. One of the ladies took my order.

Let me just say the food is not the best, but at times, I don't want to drive all the way to mount Vernon or Bronx for jamacian food. I remember when ya'll opened, and I thought good, a golden krust closer to me. Again, the food is not something to wow about, but it can eat, and I usually buy bread and other things.

The fact that he disrespected me like that because he's videoing the food from his phone with no apology after the fact says a lot. He should know for the future that you can video with your phone, mute the sound, or edit the sound out. Technology has gotten much better over the years. There is no need to insult customers who just simply come into your establishment to buy food and support your business.

Not only do I support your business, but so do my friends and families.

If the food is not the best, great customer service goes a long way at least. Disappointing experience.

But, I do want to say thanks to the lady who served me.

Bought oxtail from golden krust Stratford 06/01/25. While eating the oxtail, I noticed some pieces that look like rat tails. Maybe iguana tails. Not sure what it is. For context, I've put the pieces next to my iPhone 14. Please see for yourself and tell me if you've ever seen oxtail that looks this skinny. Golden Krust you'll be fined if you serve meat that is not what is advertised.

They close at 9pm. I arrived here at 8:15. I just came for 4 beef patties. Was told they are closing in a little while and don't have anymore. I even told them I would wait. She said again, they were closing soon and not making anymore. Btw, this is the 2nd time this happened at this establishment. If you're going to be open till 9:00, then you should be serving your food until 9:00. You have 45 minutes left of business I can't imagine a beef patty taking more than 45 minutes to make. This isn't a mom and pop shop. It's corporate. I'm sure they aren't making these from scratch. Make sure you get there well before they close if you want to eat anything. The only choice you'll have is the food that's been sitting in the steam table for who knows how long.

So I knew this was not the best Jamaican place, in fact many of the selections are not even part of the culture but I didn't think I would get FOOD Poison, sick to my stomach after eating food from here, running to the toilet, maybe it was there evening choices or just cross contamination, uncleanness or the preparation of food, or whatever the case not going back, what I ordered 1 mild beef pattie, 1 jerk pattie, 2 buns, and small curry goat and rice, patties taken from cookie sheet that had writing on it, I taste a little of curry goat, the curry taste like dust, sauce not mixed well, I didn't even take a second bite, but the patties got me sick

The flavors was ok...I expected better flavor bc they list as being Jamaican. On receipt says chicken & shrimp, there was no shrimp in bowl!!!! The pasta sauce was extremely watery and the festival bread was hard. Of course the employees was rude...the lady at register never saw me bc she was on phone. Ask a question & was snapped at. Definitely 1st & last visit!!! I will stick with going to CJs Jerk on Stratford Ave for Jamaican...

I just happened to be in the area and wanted something for brunch. I had just missed their breakfast time and they had had a rush that day, but the gentleman let me try the porridge and the Ackee/Saltfish. It was so good I begged him to give me whatever was left. So I got a lunch plate of chicken with rice and beans and sides of the breakfast goods. I also got a peanut punch and an Easter Bun with cheese. Everything was delicious! I really wish these peeps were closer to my house so I could make weekly visits.

I ordered jerk pasta it’s filled with liquid cream just so wet and no jerk flavor highly disappointed
