“We had our wedding reception at Shortstop's banquet room this past weekend. The food was incredible and Monica and her staff were the best. I had many guests come to me complimenting the food, staff and owner/chef Monica. It was a day I'll remember even more so thanks to this great venue. I highly recommend Shortstop for any special event.“

“Most esteemed Sirs and Madams, Upon a recent foray to the illustrious establishment known as Bobby V’s Sports Bar, I found myself most thoroughly delighted by a libation of singular character and uncommon fortitude — the Bloody Mary. Permit me, if you will, to extol its many virtues in the manner of our venerable age. The drink, served with the precision of a seasoned apothecary and the flair of a Parisian bon vivant, arrived in a chalice most sturdy, bedecked with pickled accoutrements of vibrant hue. From the very first sip, I was struck by its splendid balance — a harmonious union of tomato’s sanguine richness and the invigorating heat of pepper and spice, most assuredly the handiwork of a barkeep well-versed in his alchemical arts. There is, in this draught, a robustness that stirs the spirit and fortifies the constitution. One might liken it to a tonic most restorative, capable of lifting the morning fog from even the most beleaguered gentleman. The vodka, though potent, did not shout its presence but whispered with the subtle confidence of a trusted companion. As the great Dickens might proclaim — it was the best of beverages, not the worst; a veritable elixir for both the palate and the soul. Whether one seeks solace from the toils of labour or a lively accompaniment to sporting spectacle, Bobby V’s Bloody Mary stands as a triumph of modern mixology wrapped in the charm of a bygone era. I remain, Your most obedient and thoroughly impressed servant, A Humble Patron of the Bar“

“First time to this particular Applebee's. Not overly impressed. Freezing cold inside and we were a good ways away from the door. Seated immediately, waitress came right over with menus and asked about beverages. I can't eat cilantro. Allergic. I AM ServeSafe certified and know the food rules very well. It took our waitress THREE times going back and forth from our table to the kitchen to figure out what to do about my request to leave it off my meal. She and I'm thinking the chef are kinda rough around the edges when it comes to allergies. They, by law must be all ServeSafe certified. I have my responsibility to speak up. I did but they were stymied about what to do with it.
When the food came it was correct. Except my mango lemonade was straight up lemonade. I was too afraid to ask to fix it after the cilantro drama so I just dealt with it. My niece was happy with her meal. Check came quickly and payment went flawlessly considering I paid in cash and most places prefer card.
Just retrain the staff on allergies and how to punt when it gets thrown at them. And turn up the heat. It was 45 degrees outside and we FROZE inside. Never warmed up in the hour we were there.“

“We have zero interest in sports bars. The location, between a fitness club and a used car lot, and on the site of a failed auto dealer. is not that appealing. Still, we are happy to come here from time to time for a reliably good sandwich, salad. and/or simple entree. At the outer stretch of a strip mall road littered with typical fast food joints and chain family restaurants of appalling mediocrity. it is worth supporting a dining establishment that sets a reasonably high standard and is locally owned and operated. The service is friendly, casual and sometimes a bit haphazard with staffing shortages post pandemic. The clientele isn't just those who want to watch, beer in hand, an/or several athletic contest(s) on television. Young families, oldsters like us, and those who appreciate Monica's house made desserts, fill tables beyond the bar seats. You don't feel out of place with a non-alcoholic beverage. The chef-owner can cook more interesting cuisine but is giving the locals, apparently, what sells. Ample parking, and recently the unpaved sector has been reclaimed.“
“What a pleasant surprise for us. Hotels traditionally for me have never been impressive.
The food both times we have been here had been wonderful.
Hubby loves the shrimp corn chowder. We both have had the turkey club, which we found to be fresh, and perfectly made.
Today, hubby got the fish and chips. (He is normally a little on the pucky side.)
He said it was the best fish and chips he'd ever gotten.
The fish was battered nicely and crisp. And, the fries were homemade and terrific.
Sandra, the server/bar tender, I don't know how she maintains the entire floor by herself, but she does. And, she is prompt and anticipates your needs.
I've been a server for many years over the course of my life and I don't believe that I could do as good of a job.
Did I mention the servings were very generous?
We've taken (about) half back home each time.“

“Big fan of Buffalo Wild Wings! However was very disappointed to see paper towels all over the restroom and I personally had to remove them from the floors and thrashed them. The management is not faulty for people throwing way papers all over the place but it is their responsibility to keep the restrooms clean!“

“I feel it’s important to share Three Figs is under new management and has made quite a turnaround. I waited until I experienced several successful visits before writing this review so I could be certain in my recommendation. I’ve now dined in a small group, a larger group, in the dining room, in the bar and as part of a civic group banquet in the back room. Each time, I have been pleased and satisfied. The food has been delicious (both regular menu and specials) and the service prompt & exceptional. I find the atmosphere warm & welcoming, reminding me of Cheers (the neighborhood place where everybody knows your name). Our dinner this past week was a positive experience in specific ways. We didn’t have a reservation and the parking lot was packed. Yet our wait was surprisingly short, and enjoyable at the bar with friendly service. Once in the dining room, our server was kind, helpful and happy…and very accommodating when a substitution was requested on an order at our table. The manager even helped serve our plates and made sure we were all enjoying our experience. Noting that the staff worked well together and were all happy…it implies that working there must be positive for them as well. The restaurant itself was also very clean and comfortable. In the past, I could not have shared these same words and had nearly given up on this local, convenient spot. So it pleases me very much to see the new management has turned it around. Having a great spot so close by is appreciated. Congrats Three Figs…your efforts are worth it!“
