I stop here anytime I am heading home from Maine. The food and service never disappoints.

Creative American menu with sugar and chocolate and everything your mother told you not to eat when you were little. The cannoli French toast was as moreish as I expected & it lasted me about 4 days lol. Pancakes were a great size for eating ‘til you’re full & not worrying about leftovers. The yogurt parfait was excellent, too, though the granola was plain & it would’ve been lovely to see something homemade. The fruit was fresh and the coffee wasn’t watery, great traits for a diner.

Servers with nasty attitudes, burnt food and over cooked seafood!
The salad was sour because the lettuce was hot from the chicken and olives

Waited for 15 before they took out drink orders. Then another 15 for someone to take our food orders. After spent 45 minutes without anyone checking on us we left. We only order breakfast. Dont understand why it took so long. The girl that seated us was rude. I use to come here and eat everyday many years back. Now they have expanded I feel like they are slacking
Love this place. I drive from Virginia to Maine. I make sure to stop in here along the way. Can be crowded on weekends.

Fantastic diner with a well earned reputation. I have gone here for many years but I have recently become gluten intolerant. So, my only gripe is that the menu lacks clear labeling as far as which dishes contain gluten and which don't. If the menus could be labeled so that I and others who are gluten intolerant or have celiac disease would have an easier time ordering. It isn't as simple as just thinking though whether something contains wheat or breading as certain sauces often use flour as a thickening agent, and there's no way to tell by looking at the description of each item. So I have to ask the waitress to ask the kitchen, or I have to make a guess and risk being wrong.
But, that said, the wait staff and kitchen staff are both extremely helpful in this regard, and that deserves some credit.

First time trying Vernon diner and I guess we had high hopes for the food but were a little disappointed. Our home fries had zero flavor, they almost tasted like they just boiled them then grilled them for some crisp with zero seasoning! The eggs and bacon were good, but that’s something so simple to make! The only star of our breakfast were the French toast those were delicious! Prices are pretty high, considering it’s a diner and the quality of food isn’t the best. And if you go for brunch on a Saturday wait time is pretty long!

Good service, the waiters are very nice and very friendly- the food hasn't been the same quality as years prior . For what im paying I expect the food to be worth it.
Spent $51 for my wife and myself and my daughter - the kids meal chicken tenders were hard and not a lot of meat . More fries than anything. Fries were a bit hard -

Vast menu and lots of desserts. Luckily service was good though it was a Saturday night crowd. Potato pancakes are not Polish style, onion soup was nice, chopped steak was huge.
The service was incredibly slow and brusque. The meals are usually worth waiting for, but due to the long wait I asked for a second cup of tea to have with my meal, and was charged for another cup of tea - no free refills! And the tea bags are standard tea, nothing fancy.
The service was fast and friendly. This is a very busy restaurant and the waitresses help each other out. The food is delicious and the omelettes are big enough for 2. The picture of the omelette is just about 1/3 of the plate. The bakery items look good though we did not have any. This is a good restaurant that locals come to.
The waffles were amazing. I stopped here on a whim while I was out riding around on the bike. The service was very friendly and checked on me often. My coffee cup was always filled. I'll definitely will be bringing my wife next time to this place.
