D’Angelo’s in Vernon, CT. just made one of the worst menu decisions I’ve ever seen. The Rice & Grain Bowls — the items that actually made you different from every other sandwich shop — are gone. The Southwest and Korean BBQ bowls were incredible, and the matching sandwiches were just as good. Now all of them have been removed. We already have plenty of sub shops. What made D’Angelo’s special was the bowls. Without them, you’re just another sandwich place in a sea of sandwich places.
I used to give you five stars. Now it’s one.
Bring back the Rice & Grain Bowls — this “menu experiment” is a huge mistake.”

“Honestly, I hemmed and hawed about about answering yes or no to whether or not I would recommend Rien's Deli in their review section. Fairness is part of my morals, values and character. I would have liked something in the middle to choose. There are plenty of reasons TO recommend Rein's Deli. The corned beef Rachel and corned beef Reuben fresser size, with red onion slices (extra$$) were both delicious. We enjoyed the side of onion rings very much. My $3.59 iced tea, I thought, was overpriced for its quality and quantity. It was probably 8 to 10 oz of a bit bitter liquid, over ice, in a small plastic glass and had nothing to make it worth $3.59. We are both huge fan of the pickles and were offered a refill. Our two sandwiches and onion rings, with one can of cream soda and the cup of bitter iced tea, along with the side order of turkey slices, totaled $74.64 before tip. While the food was tasty, we can't help to think about the excellent sit down entrees, with warm bread, vegetable, potato, salad or soup, we could have gotten for a lesser tab at our favorite seafood restaurant. And, since we were in a corned beef mode, Reins it was. Our server, Oshian, and manager Katie, acted polite, friendly and professional, even through our disagreements. It is primarily the disagreement that will not have us returning back to Rein's. It is the policy of the "boss", who was not on the premises, to forbid my service dog to have anything to eat or drink within the restaurant, even served to her in the dishes I carry with us, or even out of my hand. We were told it was the law. We know that to be incorrect information. I went to the car and got a copy of the ADA regulations. We were then told it was the board of health that would not allow it. That is also incorrect information. Restaurants ARE under no obligation to feed a service dog. There is no law or regulation, however, that specifies a service dog is barred from eating inside of a restaurant, which is what we were being told. It IS against ADA regs and board of health regulations for a dog to sit upon a chair and be served at the table top. I was told that they would only bring the turkey to me after we had finished eating and if I gave my service dog a slice of the turkey that we had ordered specifically for her, that I would be told I needed to vacate the restaurant. There is no law nor regulation that stipulates a service dog may not eat out of their own dish in a restaurant. While apologetic, our server and manager, could only strive to uphold the policy of the permittee or face negative consequences in their jobs. The manager even explained that she had called the boss, who would not budge. In one year we traveled over 9,600 mi from Connecticut to the West Coast and back eating in restaurants the entire time; the three of us, husband, wife and service dog. We never had an issue in any of those restaurants, allowing our service dog to eat out of her own dish under the table where no one would even be aware that she was eating. In 9 years of traveling with her, the only other incident we ran into that was similar to this was in Vermont last year, when the owner of the restaurant said that we could not order food for our dog, however we could order it for ourselves and then give it to the dog. That was about as ignorant as what today's episode was. Nevermind that it made no sense at all. So, balancing both the value for the price and the ridiculousness of having to take the exorbitant price of $12 worth of turkey to feed her outside, we aren't going to be able to recommend Rein's Deli and we won't be returning. One of the oddities of this incident was that she had been in Rein's Deli many times before and this was the first time that she was unlawfully forbidden from eating inside the restaurant. And then there was a price of the turkey. At Olive Garden in Manchester, where she has always been welcomed, we usually get two plain chicken breasts for her for about $7. At Chuck Wagon in Elling”

“With traveling around a lot for work and my kids sports, i try a lot of restaurants around the state. Joe and his staff are polite, friendly and courteous. The food (especially the naan) is amazing and well worth the trip. The kids enjoyed the lassi's as well. Highly recommend to go here”

“I went there today and my boyfriend and I enjoyed every bite of everything we ordered. salad was fresh, miso soup was tasty, steak and shrimp hibachi was sooooo good. the coconut shrimp was nice and fresh and crunchy. the scorpion bowl was perfect. all we needed was one and we was feeling nice. we was impressed with the cheap prices. with 67$ we both had a hibachi entree and appetizer soup , salad and a scorpion bowl for 2..... then we got a tuna mango sushi roll on the house... ❤️ You need to go and try for yourself.”

However, whenever we come to this location, the floor is consistently sticky. I’m not sure if it’s due to the cleaning products being used or if residue is being left behind, but it’s something we’ve noticed on every visit. “I see a few negative comments. I have to say, I've been coming here since they opened. I always thought grilled burgers were better. I may have had a problem here and there but most times everything goes smooth. They have better everything. I remember when McDonald's got caught having dehydrated onions and soy in their all beef burgers. I always could taste that onion I hate them. But this burger king is good. I've seen the manager work right with the help. When they did make a mistake they quickly fixed it free. As far as mask's go. Well some people just don't like it. I don't believe they didn't serve one customer but served the next. Buisness has a right to take precautions. If you don't like it. Go to McDonald's ?”

“I decided to stop in The Vernon grill by accident About 6 months ago To pick up Lottery tickets and noticed they had a grill inside. So I decided to look at the menu and order one of their grilled signature sandwiches which was excellent. Since that day, I continue go to Go there. I find that they're food is excellent. I have never had a problem Ordering anything on their menu? It's always been delicious. The staff is very friendly and down to earth. I find that whenever I decided not to cook at home I always wind up at Vernon grill. I have found this establishment to be one that I enjoy a great deal. I continue to tell my friends and family to give it a try and they have enjoyed it very much. I have yet to have any negative experiences. I give them a 5 star rating for a fast food establishment which I have become a very satisfied customer. GREAT JOB VERNON GRILL WELL DONE”

Thank you for responding to us so quickly when our first experience didn’t go as planned. Your willingness to make things right, brought us back for another try, and the food this time DID NOT DISAPPOINT!

We love a good Chicken Parm sandwich, and this was how you do it right. Excellent chicken, perfectly fried with ample amounts of cheese and terrific red sauce. We enjoyed every bite. We also had the fried mozzarella and these aren’t your run of the mill sticks. Nice large rectangles of fried mozzarella just begging to be dipped in red sauce and devoured.

Although the food was good, I appreciate even more the care to make things right. We believe in staying local for our dining choices and it’s nice to know this option stays on the table.

“Every time I order here the food is top tier. The hot honey 2.0 sandwiches are juicy, well seasoned, and incredibly crispy. They also have a homemade ranch dressing with fresh dill, it’s ridiculously good, so I always get extra. My kids love the chicken tender meal. Typical crinkle cut fries, but are always made perfectly. If you get the shake fried option they throw mild seasoning on them, and brings them up a level for sure. That code breaker heat level? NOT FOR THE WEAK. Overall? 5/5, I’ll always recommend this place. I actually have an Uber Eats order on the way here now.”
