Kanoon Smoked Meat and Cafe Reviews
Dauod and his staff are amazing
Kanoon at Waterbury has gone through a new management change. It’s no longer the same old kanoon. The menu has changed and the restaurant under kanoon is Naklah by Arabian Felix.
We were disappointed that the restaurant didn’t update this information on the Google site and it’s misleading to customers.
As the waitress served the menu and seated us at our table she didn’t even mention the management and menu change until we asked.

Used to be one of our most favorite places . We visited this weekend but it seems that the food was reheated. Not freshly cooked like before. We visited both their branches. New Jersey and Connecticut. This time it was Connecticut and we ordered whole chicken and kebab platter ☹️

Kanoon Smoked Meat and Cafe in Waterbury has experienced significant changes under new management, now operating as Naklah by Arabian Felix. This shift has altered the menu and overall experience, causing some confusion for customers who may not be aware of the updates. Visitors have noticed that the restaurant no longer updates its online information, leading to misunderstandings about what is currently offered.
The quality of food appears to have declined for some guests, with reports of reheated, cold, and dry dishes that do not match previous standards. For example, meals like the mixed grill and lamb haneeth were appreciated for being well-cooked, but some noted that the food was rushed, cold, or reheated, especially when served as takeout. Satisfaction with dishes like the whole chicken and kebab platter has varied, with some finding the food less fresh than before.
Service quality has also been inconsistent; some guests experienced slow service, small side orders, and uncleanliness issues such as flies and mosquitoes. One visitor mentioned that despite the friendly staff, the service and food quality were disappointing, with cold, burnt-looking food and a lack of proper attention.
Despite these concerns, some guests still enjoyed certain dishes like brisket and short ribs, praising the friendly staff and halal BBQ offerings. Overall, the restaurant’s atmosphere is welcoming, but recent reviews suggest that the experience may vary greatly, and visitors should be aware of the changes and current conditions before visiting.
