Good and polite service, involved with the community very well, (you can tell when you go in, the surrounding guess talk to the servers like family as they do you) they work to improve their taste and cooking skills to customers satisfaction, ( they even have a book, asking what the customers recommend I came in two times in a row because I was hooked on the fried fish, rice and beans 🔥🔥

My family and I drove down from Hartford last Saturday to attend the Make Music Festival at Liberty Park, and we were lucky enough to stumble upon Mama’s Loves’ Kitchen—what a blessing that was! The food was so incredible, we ended up coming back twice in the same day—yes, it was that good!
From the moment we walked in, we were greeted by a young lady at the counter who was an absolute gem. Her warmth, smile, and top-tier customer service made us feel right at home. She handled everything with such grace and kindness, even when the place got busy.
As for the food? Pure comfort and joy on a plate. Every bite tasted homemade with love—rich flavors, generous portions, and everything served hot and fresh. You can tell this place is built on passion and pride in the kitchen. GET THE OXTAIL BOWL AND OR THE WHITING AND SHRIMP PLATE!!
If you're anywhere near Waterbury—or even an hour away like we were—make the trip. Mama’s Loves’ Kitchen is worth every mile, and we highly recommend stopping in. We'll definitely be back next time we’re in town!

So I stopped in for the first time last night. I didn’t know what to expect because I’m not from the area and all the food closes at like 10 which is incredibly inconvenient if you work late. I stopped in and was greeted with great smells and a clean dining area. I wanted to get something filling but not too heavy. I ended up getting the jerk chicken and baked chicken over rice with sauce. My sides were yams and greens. The cornbread is complimentary and the homemade kool aid was on point. My meal always a very pleasant evening surprise. Chicken was flavorful and nowhere near dry and the greens were seasoned to perfection. The yams were sweet but not too sweet just how I like it. Give them a try for lunch or late night and you won’t be disappointed!

My first time coming here was great waiting on the phone for a few but she called back and let me tell you the wait was well worth it. The food was absolutely perfect. I have zero complaints about this spot the baked mac and cheese was perfect and the collard greens were absolutely perfect not too seasoned or anything. Listen if you love soul food I recommend this place. I will definitely come back here and I wish I tried this place sooner. Excellent customer service Sam took great care of my order and because of her I am a new customer. I Love this place everything was perfect.
