(This review refers exclusively to the bar in the evening.) The music on the rooftop is good, but downstairs it’s almost imperceptible. The clientele is a bit dull, and the staff only moderately friendly. There are certainly better bars out there.
We’ll go to the Elbow Room now and then, and will order something completely random on the menu. Always a hit, some real artistry happening in that kitchen. Great club, lots of very funny regulars, though crowd work might be harder due to the famously conceited CT crowd of which I’m a part. West Hartford comedy scene is great.
Any place that gives LIVE COMEDY an opportunity to make people laugh deserves respect. The downstairs comedy room for open mic night is a very basic room.
I expect when bigger acts happen they use the nicer upstairs room.
My advice is drink 2 drinks at the upstairs bar and then WANT to LAUGH.. Comedy differs from person to person but it TAKES GUTS to put yourself on a stage with 1 microphone 🎤 so give it a chance. Weekend shows are bigger acts and listed...
