Toro Mexican Street Food Reviews
Impressed and will go back. Vegetarian option and fresh ingredients.
*TEMPORARILY CLOSED!* We were in town from Alexandria VA visiting family, and were excited to get dinner here again - we had a great experience here on our last trip to West Hartford. Chill place, great music and good Mexican food!
Toro Mexican Street Food is a cozy spot behind Whole Foods in West Hartford, featuring a lively Day of the Dead-themed ambiance. The service is quick and friendly, with orders placed at the counter and food delivered to the table. The menu showcases flavorful and fresh dishes, including massive burritos and bowls, such as the carne asada burrito bowl with veggies instead of rice. There are excellent salsa options, large portions, and a gluten-free friendly environment. Although Toro is currently temporarily closed for renovations and not open for business, it is still considered a great find in West Hartford. Customers have praised the oaxaca street pizza as amazing, stating it’s enough food for two people. The molotes and empanadas are noted to be good, though pricey. The churros are also highlighted as really good. Many hope for a quick reopening, as Toro is a standout in the local dining scene, drawing comparisons to the vibrant Tex-Mex and Mexican cuisine available elsewhere.
