First the food was disappointing, not bad but not good just serviceable. Service was slow although friendly enough. Nothing stood out as either great or bad. The noise level was very high but there was a huge party of probably 12-14 people that was bringing the noise level way up. That said the space is clearly loud but we were able to talk over the table and mostly were able to have a clear conversation. We came as this is a woman chef owned restaurant and for that I am happy to support it. The energy in the place was festive. I would no go out of my way for this restaurant.

Reliably excellent. Loved the choices of margaritas, all delicious. Food was top notch, with friendly, attentive service to boot. Since opening, La Palapa has provided a consistent and dependable culinary experience which keeps us coming back. Thanks for the memories.

The food was delicious! We got the corn on the cob app (they took it off the cob so we could share!). Then the steak tacos and steak enchiladas and both were great!! Super delicious and nothing was over powering anything else. There was live music from local east village artists which we did not know about but it was fun! (Happens there every Wednesday night, no cover!) Margs are a must! Frozen and on the rocks were great!

Stopped in at La Palapa for lunch, and had a most wonderful experience. The romaine salad with beets and cranberries was fresh and delicious. The burrito with vegan barbacoa was amazing. And the chocolate brownie with ice cream was heavenly. My server Vee was an absolute star, and made certain that my meal was perfect. It's no wonder that it has lasted this long.

I don't usually give reviews but this place was amazing! Every staff member we passed on the way to our table smiled and greeted us. Our reservation went from 8 down to 5 people. Then 2 of our party were an hour late. We put our order in at 7 and told the waiter that we had an 8 o'clock show to catch- I was impressed with how fast the food came out! We made it in time for the show. The margaritas were wonderful. Everyone was very happy with their food and the service was fantastic!

I was surprised to have made a reservation and walk into a basically empty restaurant to then be sat in the very back next to the restroom. The pricing was too high for the value and quantity of what we got.

I have eaten at La Palapa for dinner and for their Bottomless Brunch and both are fabulous! Highly Recommend. I now make it a point to eat here whenever I am in town especially is seeing a show at NYTW so convenient!

We came to celebrate my partner's birthday and had an amazing time. We remarked that the food was delicious and the portions were HEALTHY! Would definitely recommend ordering the nachos. We couldn't find them on the menu at first but made a special request and our server DELIVERED! He was great and made the day feel very special for my partner and everyone in the party. Don't sleep on this spot. We'll be back.

Tres lunches cakes were hard and the chicken breast pollo con platanos was super hard (chicken) and inedible. We went there for a bday dinner and it was a disaster. The service was great but we couldn't eat the food and ended up sending it back and going elsewhere.

Came here for my birthday but I regularly come here for margarita tuesdays.. Service is always excellent and they even let us stay past the closing time to enjoy my cake which I shared w the staff for being so courteous. Food was excellent and drinks are always strong but yummy. Thank you!

Fantastic service from all staff! Went on a Monday evening which was nice because it was not crowded and we had our choice of tables. Service was prompt and waitstaff were friendly and attentive. Food came out quickly and everything was yummy. The chips, salsa, and guacamole were a great way to start our meal. This was our second visit. Our first visit was last summer for lunch and it was very busy and crowded but still a great experience.

We go here all the time, have tried every appetizer, and mix and match on the tacos, incredibly flavorful across the board. Great team, very attentive no matter how busy, and they have a great cocktail list, the margarita, mescal negroni and paloma are tops

The service was impeccable, the food was magnificent and the atmosphere was clean and nice. I like to consider myself a taco aficionado and in the last two years, I have tried every taco place in West Haven and Orange. These are, hands down, the best tacos in the area. My wife got the fajitas, which were also the best we have tried. The El Salvadoran options are also a perfect touch to an already perfect place. We love Chiquita Queen and will probably return before the end of the week.

Love this place! Always reliable authentic Mexican food. Great service. Great bar, great happy hour margaritas! When you want it spicy, they make it spicy on the side so your companions won't feel the burn. The flavor varieties are amazing! I LOVE La Palapa!

Went for brunch, food and drinks were very good. Staff was awesome and hospitable. Our waiter made a special coffee for my wife even though it wasn't on the menu. Bartender made a mistake with my drink but I didn't even notice until he showed up with a replacement - I ended up drinking both!
