We love the sandbar. We drive 35 min to get their fried fish for Christmas Eve dinner. It's really fresh with a really good fried coating. It's our favorite fried seafood around.
I've been stopping at the Sandbar for a couple years now, My usual Go to items are whole belly clam rolls or dinner and a Scallop roll or dinner The seafood is always cooked to order, Battered and deep fried and is always delicious While the restaurant might not seem spectacular to some, its a nice place to pop into if you like battered seafood not overcooked but just perfectly cooked its easy to miss leaving elm st if you get on the Kimberly Ave Bridge into New Haven you...
Wow! My boyfriend and I spilt the sandbar combo. Don't try to eat one by yourself, it's ALOT of food. But it's delicious! My first time trying fried clams and scallops. So good! Also the best fries I had on my trip.
