“Great food and everyone was so helpful when I asked them if I could make substitutions because of my husband’s dietary restrictions. Only wished that the seating was more wheelchair accessible- the pedestal table got in the way of my husband’s wheelchair so he wasn’t able to sit close to the table. He had to sit a little sideways ?.“

“There is plenty of parking in the lot. Most people don't realize, but there's a little banquet room to the left when you first walk in the building where you can host a baby shower or a birthday. If the owner is at the front, she's a little bit brisk but so sweet and helpful and she knows what she's talking about. They offer pizza by the slice and there's always a wide variety, plenty of cookies, cake pops, cakes, pastries and other desserts. They also offer dinners to go buy one, get one.“

“The craft is something special, it's a hidden gem definitely, the place wasn't super busy which was surprising for a Sunday morning. All the bakery items were made that morning and they are gone by the end of the day. Everything is fresh and delicious. The service is nice and accommodating. The owner is also very sweat. It was our first time here and to say we're pleasantly surprised is an understatement. The croissant is something straight out of a French bakery, super flaky and light and airy on the inside.Recommendations- croissant, coffee crumb cake, hot latte“

“Nestled on **765 Sullivan Ave in South Windsor, CT**, Birdhouse Coffee isn't just a coffee shop; it's a symphony of flavors, warmth, and community. As I stepped inside, the rich aroma of freshly roasted beans enveloped me, inviting me to stay awhile. The baristas, true artisans, take their time crafting each pour-over. I opted for their signature blend, the **"Morning Song"**, a dance of Ethiopian Yirgacheffe and Colombian beans. With every sip, I tasted dark chocolate, ripe berries, and a hint of floral sweetness—a harmonious composition. But let's dive deeper into the coffee symphony Birdhouse offers:1. **Morning Song**: The star of the show, this blend is a morning ritual. It greets you with a gentle crescendo of flavors, awakening your senses for the day ahead.2. **Sunrise Serenade**: A light roast that sings notes of citrus and jasmine. Perfect for those who prefer a delicate melody in their cup.3. **Velvet Sonata**: A medium-dark roast with undertones of caramel and toasted hazelnuts. It's like a warm embrace on a chilly afternoon.4. **Midnight Rhapsody**: For the night owls, this bold blend boasts dark chocolate, smoky cedar, and a touch of mystery. Pair it with a slice of their decadent chocolate cake. And the pastries deserve a standing ovation. The **blueberry scone**, flaky and buttery, burst with juicy blueberries. Paired with my coffee, it was a delightful duet. But Birdhouse Coffee isn't just about the brew; it's about connections. Locals gather here, sharing stories, laughter, and sometimes a game of chess. It's a haven—a place where caffeine meets camaraderie. The rustic wooden decor, soft jazz, and friendly baristas create an inviting ambiance. Whether you're seeking a morning pick-me-up or an evening refuge, Birdhouse Coffee hits all the right notes. So, if you find yourself in South Windsor, follow the melody to Birdhouse Coffee. It's more than coffee; it's a soulful tune—a reminder that life's best moments happen over a cup of warmth.*Disclaimer: This review reflects my personal experience and taste preferences. Yours may vary, but I hope it's as delightful as mine!“

“(Note: This review is for the Albany Ave. location) This won't be a popular review. For decades my family would frequent Scott's Bakery. We loved everything that they offered (hardo bread, beef patty, coco bread, plantain tart and so on). When I said we liked EVERYTHING, I mean it. Everything was on point!! Yesterday was my first time (and last time) going into Scott's in about a decade plus. It is clear that management has changed (if not management, something has gone horribly wrong). The shell of the patty was beyond thick and there was little meat in it. The coco bread was beyond disgusting! It was a flavorless clump of undercooked dough. You know how coco bread is supposed to taste. It didn't taste like that at all. It seems as though they've cut corners on their peanut punch which had a gell-like texture. The BEST part of everything that I purchased was the Cola Champagne. As long as they continue to use the same distributor they can't mess that up. Maybe they had a bad day. I won't be spending money to find out.“

“Customer service is very friendly. I purchased a birthday cake and was also able to pick it up early. My only concern is that O had to carry the cake out in the open which made me very nervous because I did not want anything to fall on the cake or have it out in the open air, but there weren't any bigger cake boxes available and no cover for the cake so the frosting would not be ruined. I've never heard of this before, but I rushed the cake home to the fridge nervous as heck. Cake came out beautiful! We are very pleased with the details and smoothness. We also purchased a peanut butter brownie and raspberry bar. They were both delicious, decadent, and filling. The brownie is very thick; you get a good size and if you can eat the whole brownie in one sitting, kudos to you!“

“Cakes are really nice. Service was also good, although thanks to it being close to Christmas I had no desire to even think about getting anything else as the line there is not particularly orderly. I ordered a frosted fruit cake and that came out really well. Parking here is terrible, and it's also at a weird intersection (but not the weirdest intersection in East Longmeadow, a town with terrible intersections).“

“Mrs. Murphy's has long held a reputation as one of the top doughnut destinations in the area, and as a resident of Connecticut, I've made the trek to their location numerous times, always eager to indulge in their delightful treats. The introduction of a drive-thru setup during the Covid era was a game-changer, offering convenience and safety in equal measure. This shift also brought with it the convenience of accepting credit cards, a welcome change from the previous cash-only policy. In the past, when they operated solely as a storefront, the sight of an ATM in the entryway served as a reminder of the inconvenience for non-cash carriers like myself. However, the real star of the show remains the doughnuts themselves. Each visit presents an array of options ensuring that there's something to satisfy every craving. Mrs. Murphy's consistently delivers on taste and quality, making it a must-visit for doughnut enthusiasts in the area.“

Moneta Moments Bakery • $$
Hayden Station Shops, 1077 Palisado Ave, Windsor - 2.62 miles

“"Sweeter than wine Softer than the summer night Everything I want, I have Whenever I hold you tight This magic moment" (The Drifters) Walking into Moneta Moments surely is a magic moment- the sweet aroma of freshly baked goodies is incredible. Veronica and Diane's bakery operates on a "preorder" model, so their cookies, cupcakes, cream puffs, cake pops, scones and cannolis should be preordered by the dozen. Much of their business revolves around absolutely gorgeous made to order customized wedding and special occasion cakes and pies. They have close to thirty different cake flavors across the entire spectrum of yumminess. Here's the scoop on the flavor groups: "Classics" that include Chocolate, Vanilla, Red Velvet, and more. A "Fun & Delicious" line that includes among others Tangy Pink Lemonade, Pineapple Crush, Zesty Limeade, Maple Pancake, and Cinnamon Maple Four "Kids Favorites" of Sweet S'more, Cookie Dough Core, Cotton Candy, and Dreamsicle And some very intriguing booze flavors "For Adults" of Espresso Pubcake (made with Guiness beer), Rum & Coke, Lime Margarita, and Tequila Sunrise. On Friday and Saturday, they may have some cupcakes and cannolis for individual sale, so after a few text messages, I arranged to swing by and get 2 of each. While inside the store, I saw dozens of freshly baked cupcakes awaiting their custom "to order" icings, and two freshly baked stunning special occasion cakes awaiting pickup. We bought two chocolate chip cannolis, a chocolate cupcake, and a vanilla cupcake. We just finished scarfing down the cannolis. They were amazing! The filling wasn't super sweet, the chocolate chips were plentiful, and the shell was crispy and crunchy. A definite A+ of a cannoli. We will exercise some will power and share the cupcakes for tomorrow, but no doubt they will be equally stellar. If you EVER need a special occasion cake or a custom cupcake order, go check out their website, make a visit to Windsor, and say hello to Veronica and Diane, and make a Magic Moment of your own. You will not regret a thing!“

“I went in on March 19 to get some Zeppoles and I got a box of cookies on a whim. I’ve always preferred the sandwich cookies and chocolate covered ones. Usually, from other places or the grocery store, they’re good but dry and hard. The cookies from Guiseppina’s were the softest most flavorful Italian sandwich cookies I’ve never had. They were absolutely delicious. I will be coming back! The zeppoles were fabulous but I have never had Italian sandwich cookies like that. Thank you!“
