“This place was on my list to check out since moving here. Pastry chef Kim Wood creates masterpieces that has Vietnamese and French influences. The ingredients were fresh, locally sourced, and organic. This was located in what looked like a house converted into a bake shop in a plaza. The place was very cute, had a couple of tables, and even a toy bakery stand for my toddler to play with. Everyone there was so nice and friendly there.I ordered a bunch of items; snickerdoodle cookie, chocolate croissants, banh truffles, mini chocolate waffle, and a Vietnamese iced coffee (yes, I shared it with my husband haha). The desserts I've tried were not too sweet, which I love, and delicious. The coffee was strong and tasty. The snickerdoodle cookie was lightly crispy outside and moist on the inside. The waffle had a lightly sweet glaze on the outside and chocolate on the inside. The chocolate croissants were flakey and yummy. The show stopper were the banh truffles; it tasted like very moist cake pops inside of a chocolate truffle; it had a golden sparkle to it too. All in all, I'm happy to have checked this place out and glad that it's close to me since I will for sure be frequenting it.Kid-friendliness: Had toy bakery stand“
“????? Celebrating our daughter Gigi’s birthday, my wife and I ventured to Pop Over Eatery in Simsbury, CT, for a breakfast that was beyond our wildest dreams. As a professional chef, I was thrilled to discover a popover (also known as Yorkshire pudding) on the menu—a rare find that instantly caught my attention. The food was nothing short of fantastic, each dish prepared with such care and flavor that left us wanting more. From the sumptuous Belgian waffle to the variety of vegan options, every bite was a delight. What made our visit even more special was Sarah, the owner, who personally came over to ensure we were enjoying our meal, adding a touch of warmth and hospitality that truly made us feel at home. Pop Over Eatery is a gem in Simsbury, offering not just incredible food but also a welcoming atmosphere where every guest is treated like family. I wholeheartedly recommend this eatery to anyone looking for an exceptional dining experience. Hats off to Sarah and her team for making our daughter’s birthday breakfast unforgettable! ???“
“Great place, very inviting to stay more time in.Great coffee, and great service, too. It's a nice place that I happen to find in one of my many drives that route. Now I know where to stop by whenever I'm in the area for a quick bite!“
“Absolutely delicious bagels. We went there on our way home from breakfast for second breakfast. I grabbed a fresh everything bagel with lox cream cheese. Bagel was perfectly chewy and the cream cheese was cold and delightful. They accidentally made an everything with regular cream and and I ate that also. (they gave me that as a bonus) The wife got a sesame bagel and a cinnamon raisin bagel as this was her first time there and that's how she figures out if a bagel place is worth ever returning. She will be back. That's big fyi. The sesame bagel was covered in sesame in proper sesame bagel style.Their breakfast sangies look intense. I may have to go here for first and second breakfast in one next time.“
“Moving from NYC we had concerns of locking down a bagel spot that would live up to our standards - this little hidden gem was the best find. Incredible selection of classic and specialty bagels, always fresh. Breakfast sandwiches are always done perfectly and the croissants are insanely delicious as well!! Super charming area in the back to sit down with the family. If I could give this place 10 stars I would!!“
“As a personal trainer and health conscious I absolutely love this place. It’s. Nice treat right after a killer workout ?️. The cupcakes and mini donuts are out of this world. Wish you had. Place in Wethersfield or newington as I am transferring to healthtrax in newington ?Thank you to cupcake fairy for introducing your cupcakes ? I hardly have sweets, so when I do, I look forward to your cupcakes “
“5/5 on taste and looks this was really good!!! Things that I think can improve would be adding drinks like a milk choice. I think having food products you need drinks. And also the forks are really cheap and when the cakes are cold the fork given bends. I think this can be changed and doesn't change that the taste is amazing“
“The first time we tried to go there, everything was sold out, so they closed early. The second time, I made sure to order ahead prior to pick up. The place was so cute with a sit in area that had your typical cafe vibes. I was surprised there were items left when I went to pick up my order the next morning (Friday) at 11 am. Everything in the showcase looked mouthwatering. I admittedly plan to try everything haha. They sell French and southern inspired pastries. The story of their family immigrating from Laos to the US was similar to my family from Cambodia. It's inspiring to see them become successful! The prices were high but the products were quality; I think it's worth it.I ordered an iced chai latte to go as well; this drink was good. I'm looking forward to trying their hand crafted lemonades next time. The showstoppers were the pastries. I ordered the cinnamon rolls, chocolate croissant, Southern sticky pecan buns, and egg in a hole. The egg in the hole was amazing. I was only planning to take a bite since I already ate my lunch. I couldn't stop and ended up finishing it. It has egg, cheese, chives, and chopped ham/bacon in a croissant. The sticky pecan bun was buttery and sweet; the candied pecans had a sugary crunch to it; the most amazing sticky bun I've ever tasted. My husband had the cinnamon bun and said 10/10. Pro tip: put in microwave for 5-10 seconds, even better. In conclusion, I will be back sooner rather than later!“
“I recently enjoyed an exceptional dining experience at Aurora’s restaurant, where I had one of the best vegetable omelettes ever. The omelette, filled with fresh, and seasoned to perfection, offered a symphony of flavors and textures that stood out remarkably. The cozy ambiance and the attentive service enhanced the meal, making it not just delicious but also genuinely pleasant. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for expertly crafted breakfast dishes, especially their unforgettable vegetable omelette.“
“Lovely bakery with lots of fresh baked options. I went in for my first time today and got almond croissant, cinnamon buns and the fococia and they were all delicious! They make breakfast sandwiches and other savory items as well. I will definitely be coming back!“
“I enjoy coming to Beanz for a scone and latte whenever I’m driving by with my mom. The atmosphere is absolutely amazing in this store, but the seating is very tight. It’s always packed when I stop in.Dietary restrictions: So many gluten free options!!“
“Kevin and his team create beautiful food here. Worth the wait, walk, drive or whatever mode you prefer to get here and visit the Gastropark to try their hand created bakery items. The sourdough is unmatched. The cinnamon rolls will change your outlook on life. Kevin is an absolute gem and a wonderful addition to this community.“
“The craft is something special, it's a hidden gem definitely, the place wasn't super busy which was surprising for a Sunday morning. All the bakery items were made that morning and they are gone by the end of the day. Everything is fresh and delicious. The service is nice and accommodating. The owner is also very sweat. It was our first time here and to say we're pleasantly surprised is an understatement. The croissant is something straight out of a French bakery, super flaky and light and airy on the inside.Recommendations- croissant, coffee crumb cake, hot latte“
“Oh. My. Goodness! The Pumpkin Brulee cheese cake (brulee'd to order I might add....and that smell was just HEAVEN) was amazing. It was super flavorful and creamy without being heavy. The brulee crunch added another layer of delicious. And it even LOOKS beautiful. This will FOR SURE be a go to treat. You've GOT to try it.The strawberry celebration cake was moist and tender and my darn kids refused to share any with me other than one bite. But WHAT A BITE! Craveable!“
“Crumbl Cookies is a delightful haven for cookie enthusiasts! From their ever-rotating selection of delectable flavors to their commitment to freshness and quality, every visit is a treat for the senses. Each cookie is a perfect balance of softness and chewiness, and their generous size ensures satisfaction with every bite. The welcoming atmosphere and friendly staff only add to the overall wonderful experience. Whether you're treating yourself or sharing with loved ones, Crumbl Cookies never disappoints. Highly recommend giving them a try for a sweet indulgence that will leave you craving more!“
“We really enjoyed all of the cupcakes we tried. The cakes were light and fluffy and super flavorful. Friendly service and a vast selection of flavors. We also picked up a half dozen speciality vegan cupcakes for a friend’s birthday. Ample parking, great location!“
“Found this place while at lunch next door with a friend. We joked about having dessert afterwards. After trying some of the confections that day I now stop by any time I am in the area. Sometimes making a special trip into West Hartford for a treat.“
“(Note: This review is for the Albany Ave. location) This won't be a popular review. For decades my family would frequent Scott's Bakery. We loved everything that they offered (hardo bread, beef patty, coco bread, plantain tart and so on). When I said we liked EVERYTHING, I mean it. Everything was on point!! Yesterday was my first time (and last time) going into Scott's in about a decade plus. It is clear that management has changed (if not management, something has gone horribly wrong). The shell of the patty was beyond thick and there was little meat in it. The coco bread was beyond disgusting! It was a flavorless clump of undercooked dough. You know how coco bread is supposed to taste. It didn't taste like that at all. It seems as though they've cut corners on their peanut punch which had a gell-like texture. The BEST part of everything that I purchased was the Cola Champagne. As long as they continue to use the same distributor they can't mess that up. Maybe they had a bad day. I won't be spending money to find out.“
“I would not recommend this place at all. The owner was so unprofessional and already had set the tone that she was not going to refund me back on a cake I ordered from her bakery. The cake looked nothing like the image I sent her! The rudeness was so unnecessary. I am completely shocked as an owner how she conducted herself. I even told her yes the cake was beautiful but it was not what I sent her. She told me they can't get always get it to what the customer sends. In all fairness it was not even close to what I wanted as top decorations. She put 3 fresh flowers on the cake. She was dismissive right away. Obviously had already made up her mind about this situation. Basically I was told by her you don't need to use us again. Of course I'm not. I also told her the cake was dry and no flavor, her response was of course it was. She tells me I knew this was going to be a problem from the geico. Who says that to their time customer? I am completely taken by Miriam the owner. I could keep going but at this point she just doesn't care about her customers feelings and making them feel good when ordering a special customized cake for a special day. No heart.“
“Wow! Her stuffed cookies are AMAZING and like nothing I have ever seen before. We met at the Strawberry Festival in South Windsor where I sampled and purchased a few different flavors including the S'mores, Peanut Butter and Strawberry (two different kinds but I forgot the names) and they were all delicious!“
“I ordered a customized cake for my daughter's 18th birthday last year. it was a short notice but they were able o make it perfectly beautiful & the cake taste so yummy! it wasn't too sweet. they were amazing & easy to talk to. highly recommend!!!!“
“Delicious bundle of treats. All were soo good but really loved the bar- I can’t remember what it is called but almost a molasses carrot consistency but was soo good and able to have at multiple occasions because so rich. Really love the choices and options here. Recommend“
“Always welcoming to get foodies there Abit of a wait but don't mind the food is well worthy and so is the price very low prices been coming there for YEARS...is very CLEANED THE FOOD SHOW CASE AND THE STAFF VERY PROFESSIONAL AT THEIR WORK...“
“It's not a coffeeshop, more of a place where you can grab some food, pastries and coffee. They were able to make a cappuccino late in the afternoon while all the coffeeshops were closed, and it tasted pretty good! I also tried their passion fruit dessert, it was great!“
“I see this bakery's bread and rolls at other markets -. It is that good. I went there on Good Friday for a coffee and toasted roll. They had about ten huge Easter baskets on table for sale. Bakery was decorated festively for the holiday. I was tempted to but a bag of cookies imported from Portugal, will soon.“
“Five stars for the chicken cutlet grinders alone. Don't think I've had a better cutlet in the region. They will customize your sandwich any way you like, and also have a really nice selection of both fresh and frozen prepared foods like broccoli rabe, eggplant parm, chicken parm, arancini, macaroni/potato salads, etc. Staff has always been incredibly friendly and quick. Prices are fair. A complete gem.“
“The food is good, there are a lot of options. The coffee is great. Love the hummus.Really missing the Lemon tart. Wonder why it is no longer on the menu. It was a favorite in our family.Dietary restrictions: They are willing to accommodate food allergies and sensitivities.“
“Nice little deli/cafe, pretty decent food, good selection, and friendly staff. Even when it's busy they do a great job of getting your order as quick as possible. Great tasting home made soups and plenty of pastries, cookies, and donuts for those who have a sweet tooth to satisfy. Another thing I like is they always have fresh coffee available here too. Thumbs up to Day Hill Deli.“
“This morning we had a dish called The Hungry Harvest at my favorite breakfast. shop. Three scrambled eggs, ham, bacon, avocado, shredded grilled potatoes, and a slice of toasted whole grain bread with notes of chocolate and coffee. Fabulous! As always, the service and ambience were just outstanding“
