I lived in Texas for over 20 years and am well accustomed to Texas bbq, so I knew I had to give 2fifty’s a try. While this isn’t on the level of places like Snows, Terry Black’s, Franklin, or Pecan Lodge, it’s still the best Texas bbq I’ve had in the DMV. The brisket was tender, had the right amount of pull, was well seasoned, and not too fatty. The sausage was good as well, a little less flavor than expected, but honestly tasted along the same lines as what you would get from a place like Kreuz. Make no mistake, this isn’t going to taste like bbq local to the east coast, so if that’s what you’re used to I recommend coming in with an open mind, remembering that across the country bbq styles widely vary, and that even the best bbq joints don’t always have consistent quality (i.e. don’t write it off based on one bad experience).

"Holy Mother of God." This brisket leaves Franklin's in the dust. And I used to live in Austin.

Loved their juicy brisket. Half a pound is more than enough to be satisfied. I also enjoyed their pulled pork. Next time I will order one or the other because it was a lot of meat.

I came here for the brisket and it did not disappoint. Good brisket is difficult to find in DC but this place nails it. I will be back soon.

I’m for Texas and a fellow pit master and this bbq reminded me of Austin, TX. Ribs were very tender and had lots of flavor. The brisket had a great smoke ring, good bark, and passed the pull test. I was very pleased.

Cal or Kel. Idk dudes name. I waited in line for ten minutes with no one in front of me. He proceeded to weigh several handfuls of pulled pork to "see how much he had." Thought it was weird to make a customer wait for administrative tasks. But as more time went by, he finally notified me all they had was sausage left. That's a piece of information you tell a customer immediately (not after waiting for ten minutes). The guy before me ordered pork, so he clearly knew they were low on every item on the menu. After I told him he should have let me know sooner, he brushed the statement off with attitude. This dude clearly doesn't care about customers or have a sense to represent the business well.****In response to the owners response to review. The problem was not that you didn't have any meat. The problem was the 2fiftys associate waited ten minutes to tell me, the only one in line, that you guys were out of most items. All I'm saying is that's something you should tell the customer first, not wasting their time
Brisket is absolutely AMAZING, 2fifty knows how to do texas style brisket right. I asked for an entire point of the brisket to share with my family and friends, Jamie took extra care to wrap it well and everyone enjoyed it once I got home.
Sometimes when you go here, the brisket is EXCELLENT. Sometimes, it's merely good though. Somehow the fact that it's mind blowing sometimes, makes the times when it is merely good feel pretty disappointing.
This place deserves to be rated above 4.5. 2fifty's brisket moist is now tied for my favorite in DC with Hill Country. The spicy sausage is amazing...I love the flavor and texture which is more sausagey and less hotdogish..the hot doggish texture makes sausage seem low quality just not good, but 2fifty's is the good kind. I found myself wanting to pair this with a good sweet Amish type potato salad, but the sweet cole slaw is healthier and fits the bill. I've got another 'que spot...and one where two can eat well for 40 bucks vs 90 at Hill Country, and with better sausage than Hill Country's! I'll update after I try the ribs. I'm coming to check out the Riverdale location when I get a chance. Take a bow, 2fifty's!

Possibly the best brisket in the dc, wow!
Great service and food! This is the 2nd time I've been at this location. I highly recommend trying them out if you're in Union Market! The Greenbelt location has more menu items available, but you have a couple of good items on the menu here.

The brisket is some of the best I have had.
Best brisket sandwich I’ve ever had portions where easily double anything I’ve seen that’s passed for a brisket sandwich before and the Mac and Cheese is *chefs kiss
Brisket sandwich was on the dry side unlike the original location.
