Great food but they applied automatic 20% gratuity for a party of 4 adults and 1 child without any notices.

So disappointed. Will never come here again. I ordered the K-pow beef. I usually go the one in Annandale. The one in Annadelle is full with flavor and quality is beyond it. Was very disappointed.

We went to Akeno for my husband’s 30th birthday. We had a table of 8. The service was fantastic, attentive, and beyond fast. We had the house sake, tasted great. Takoyaki, gyoza were amazing. Our group had a variety of dishes - teriyaki, tonkatsu, tempura, and all were fantastic. My favorite part was my dish - fatty tuna sashimi and the salmon sushi special. This was truly the best reasonably priced Japanese food we’ve had outside of Japan and we’re mad that we’ve lived in the neighborhood for years and just found this place. Highly, highly recommend. We will definitely be returning!!

As a Japanese-American this place is undeniably the worst food! The service took forever to get our initial drink order. I had to waive the waitress a few times to get her attention. It's our first time here and NEVER

The BEST BEST BEST sushi I have EVERRRR had in my ENTIREEEEEE LIFE! We also had the mango sticky rice and it was AMAZING too. Also I want to acknowledge that they had chicken and shrimp steamed dumplings with NO pork that was soooooo flavorful and tasty we were all shocked we ordered another round of them. That’s rare to find so thank you all so much for even having that as an option. The baked salmon sushi roll blew our minds away, the akeno roll was amazing, dynamite was phenomenal, and red dragon was delicious! Honestly I’m from out of town and this was by far the best food I’ve ever had in the DMV! If you are ever in the area or close this place is a MUST! 10/10

Review is for happy hour at the bar. This sneaky big space on Barracks Row greets you with a silk flower endowed staircase up to a narrow but vaulted and long restaurant space. All smiles, the staff are fast and efficient. The sushi counter and bar sprawl to the back of the restaurant with more stairs leading up to more seating upstairs. Happy hour food and drinks are Japanese favorite including octopus balls, gyoza and sushi. I was jonesing for Sake and oh do they deliver. Served blazing hot or cold a caraf of sake on HH is my love language. Food comes out fast and temperature appropriate. The Sake hit the spot and the bill was beautiful affordable. I'm rarely in the area but best believe I'll be back here for snacks and dranks!
