The food was honestly good.

I just wanted to warn people that they tried to scheme us here. We paid for 6 higher priced meals, all got multiple drinks, even got deserts.

Then they come out with bottles of flavored liqueurs. We didn’t really want any but the server presented them as if they were on the house and asked everyone what they wanted. Was very pushy and many places offer these for free if you order desert, so we acquiesced.

In the end we see a $60+ charge on this stuff that tasted like cough syrup and nobody even drank. We didn’t want to completely stiff the wait staff but we did deduct out of the tip. Now I don’t know if the waiter did this on his own accord, but nonetheless it completely changed my take on this place. They should know better than this.

I just can’t stand for this kind of behavior so unfortunately I will leave a 1 star. If the owner wants to discuss I will modify my review. I understand margins might be squeezed but it’s just bad business to pull this crap on high paying customers on their first time in your restaurant, and it soured our night.

This tiny place was full of charm. The food was excellent and the service was friendly. The fish was fresh and tasty. The truffle pasta was really good. Finally we had to try its namesake dessert-tiramisu, which was tasty without a strong coffee taste.

Cute little place with kind staff; really, really loud, though. The acoustics are not great.

Al Tiramisu is a solid spot for Italian food with a cozy, casual vibe. The pasta dishes are flavorful and feel homemade, and the tiramisu lives up to the name—rich, creamy, and satisfying. The staff was friendly and helpful, though service was a bit slow at times. Still, it’s a dependable place for a tasty Italian meal, and I’d come back to try more of the menu.

Very good service, and some of our meal was very good, but a few dishes were ordinary. Given the very high prices, one would hope for consistent excellence. Our two vegetarian pastas were delicious, but my husband's seafood appetizer and pasta with meat sauce were both mediocre.

Wonderful small Italian restaurant in the heart of DC. The service is excellent, the food great and the ambiance electric

Lovely little place. Staff was very nice but the food was just decent though we had one mishap. Two of my dining companions got the Lobster Bisque and neither liked it. One complained that it tasted burned and had some bones in it and the other friend complained that there was no lobster in it. We told the staff. They removed the barely eaten bowls, but they still charged us 44$. To be fair, we didn't outright request a “refund”, but generally the staff should have taken it upon themselves to do so. So that's why I'm giving it a lower rating.

everything was wonderful!! One of the best italian restaurants in the city. we had the sage butter ravioli, the vongole, and the lobster pasta special, and enjoyed every bite. The service was excellent and our server had great recommendations.

Noise level was a bit high due to a very large table near us. Not a problem as they (and we) were having a good time!

This restaurant was recommended by our hotel concierge. My opinions are as follows - the setting is an old step down shotgun floor plan restaurant. The interior is old and outdated - looks like most of the furniture was probably second hand even in the 1980s. Cocktails were weak. Food was not great and prices were higher than the quality delivered. Grilled calamari spedini tasted burnt because the breading charred on the grill. Pasta was unimaginative and average at best. The chicken entree was so tough it was hard to cut or chew - think jerky like. My opinion is this restaurant is a “hard pass” considering the number of alternative dining choices that exist.

As always, one of the best meals we have when we visit DC. The red snapper was the best I've had, and the accompaniments were delicious. My wife had the ravioli, and we shared the burrata and a walnut and goat cheese salad as apps. All were incredible. Dessert didn't disappoint with a carrot cake and limoncello. We'll be back!
