Pleasantly mediocre, some of the food was absolutely phenomenal (mushroom pilav, meat pie) and some of it is so incredibly mediocre or even comparable to chuck e. cheese food (specifically the sujuk flatbread) it was cool to try out, but it wasn’t worth it enough to go back. weird lunch menu that isn’t really balkan at all? eh.
The updated ambar shaw is definitely better than it's previous location. I found the menu to be a bit more refined and items having more unique characteristics. For $50 dollars per person I do believe there is more to be desired. There is a odd 3 percent fee on top for inflation which feels like a slap on the face. They should just just make everything cost 3 percent more rather than this hidden fee.
Enjoyed the unlimited small plate concept, and definitely got our money's worth. Many dishes were extra good, including the kebab, and the carrots. Our server was great but stretched too thin and that situation made getting water and drinks and placing subsequent orders take too long.
