Delicious falafels with fresh quality ingredients. No indoor seating but there is patio seating outside. Great location in the always lively adams morgan neighborhood. Portions are huge!

When we were checking out the customer service was awful. The worker was rude and made sarcastic remarks about us.The falafal was cold and unauthentic and so was the shawarma. The fries were seasoned with sugar rather than salt.Would not recommend.

They serve falafels with wide variety of garnish and twice-fried Dutch-style fries. All salads are chopped fresh daily, sauces are made from scratch and falafel fried in front of you.

I'm a big fan of falafel. It's kind of like the ideal food for just about anyone. If you're conscious about your health, are avoiding red meat, or are a vegetarian/vegan, then of course it fits your dietary restrictions. And yet, since it is technically fried, it still has that level of comfort food and un-healthiness to appease those who may not be as vegetable-inclined. So that being said, I've tried my fair share of falafel and Amsterdam is a solid choice when it comes to their specialty. AF is located in L'Enfant Plaza. So there's no frills here. It's just another vendor in one of the two food courts in the plaza mall. Compared to some of the heavier hitters in the food courts like Panda Express, Moe's, and Roti, the line at AF is usually pretty short so even during the peak lunch rush, you can usually get your falafel fix pretty quick. If you've never been to AF before, it's the Chipotle system type restaurant where you select your bowl size, your protein, your veggies, and your sauce. Since it's a falafel restaurant, it's got a mediterranean flavor to it. One unique aspect of AF is that they also specialize in roast beef and so you can order roast beef here as well (it's hard to describe but it's like two restaurants in one location). I've tried the roast beef and it's also quite delicious. My only knock against AF is 2 things: The portions of the bowls are fairly small. Once you begin adding things to your bowl, it's easy to fill up quickly and I always feel like I could've eaten a little bit more when I finish my order. My second comment is that located around the corner from AF is Roti..another Chipotle style mediterranean restaurant that has more options than AF. So while I love the falafel from AF, you can also get falafel as well as other things at Roti. This is probably why the line at Roti is usually longer. Either way, if you plan on getting falafel, you'll enjoy either just the same. I recommend checking out AF and making the decision for yourself, especially if you're a fan of fried chick pea balls.

French fries were nice and fresh, all the sauces were tasty to choose from, the gyros were flavorful.

Amsterdam Falafel was exactly what I needed during my first visit to Washington DC. The falafel was made to order, perfectly crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and packed with flavor. The falafel fit perfectly inside of a warm, house made pita. I also enjoyed the ability to add toppings to my liking. For only $10, this falafel sandwich was an all star. I can't wait to visit DC and Amsterfam Falafel again! P.S. the fries are also delicious!

I've never had Falafel before and it was delicious. The fries are even more magical. But I tried the roast beef sandwich as well and that was amazing. This place is delicious!

An insult to falafels. Dry and tasteless. If you've been to places like Syria or Jordan and know what real falafels are, please do not waste your time.

Amsterdam Falafel is one of the best restaurants in the DC area. It has long been a popular place to cure the munchies. They are one of the few places here that's not a chain restaurant. It's good to eat local. This location is in the food court, so you have to share tables. It has a newer location in L'Enfant Plaza in the food court. It's not as good as the Adams Morgan location, but the food is still good. They have the same falafel, which you can top with anything and everything mostly. It lets you put on your own toppings after you choose your falafel. You can get it in a cup or in a pita. It's better to choose a cup. You can fit more in there. It's about $8 for a serving of falafel. The toppings include many sauces including vegan garlic mayonnaise. It has all kinds of vegetables like pickled cabbage. You can pretty much make a salad to put on top. It sure is good for something in a food court. It's the best reason to come to this mall. There's literally nothing else to see there.

Wow, good food, great people. We tried chicken and lamb. Generous portions. I loved the sides so much that I got a portion of their babaganoush separate and enjoyed it as dinner.
