We are very surprised by the high ratings of this restaurant. To start, the service was good (except the lady checking us in). The food was well plated but the taste was nothing to brag about. The gem salad and crudo were not well flavored. The fish was not finely cut and just served in thick chunks. The chestnut soup and pasta were were good. The entrees - there was a clump of salt on the steak plate. The steak was bland and the sauces just did not work! We tried the quail and it was good. The cocktails were nice, nothing spectacular.

We went to Annabelle's to celebrate my Birthday on Dec. 20th and what an awesome time we had! Started off at the Bar with great tasting Cocktails by Kevin, an intensely friendly and knowledgeable Mixologist! After a couple cocktails, and having fun at the Bar, we moved on to the relaxing atmosphere of subdued lighting in the dining room. We continued with another cocktail at our table and enjoyed the libations to the fullest before ordering food. The service at our table, from our server, was impeccable. Our Server was from Italy and was an absolute pleasure, and kept us well attended to throughout out dining time. The food was spectacular, every thing was prepared deliciously and presented beautifully. After dining at our table, we decided to have one last cocktail at the Bar. Kevin, the Bartender, worked his magic and made us two wonderful cocktails. Then, at the bar, the entire serving team presented me with a Happy Birthday Dessert and along with bar patrons sang Happy Birthday! If you are looking for a wonderful restaurant experience, then this is the place to be! Can't to go back!

$30 glass of house Cabernet, beet salad with escarole as 80% of the salad not listed as an ingredient , wimpy is the best word for this dish, Pate was whipped smooth and pasty. I was stunned how ordinary this food was. Decent atmosphere and service was fine.

Super food, service and ambience. So nice to go to a restaurant that brings out the best in ingredients. Menu has something for everyone. Smoked beet salad was delicious and imaginative, lasagnette, clever and rich without being heavy. Such a treat and lovely to go to a restaurant and not have to “speak with raised voice.”

Gracious hospitality, fabulous branzino, willingness to accomodate a food allergy all in a lovely glowing atmosphere with excellent sound acoustics for conversation. Well done!

My first time eating here. I was expecting, based on the reviews, for it to be amazing. It was good. Nothing more or less.

5 stars for service alone. Food was also excellent. I was here for a group dinner, so we had a prixe fixe menu and I didn't get to choose from the larger menu, but the options were great anyway. The ginger squash soup was particularly good. I also had one of the best aviation cocktails I've ever had upon a gin recommendation from our great server. The layout of the restaurant is well thought out and the ambiance fits both a romantic setting or a business dinner and everything in between.

Annabelle was one of the best dining experiences we've had in 2025. Located in the beautiful neighborhood of Kalorama, Annabelle is inside a brick building that used to house the country's first certified organic restaurant. Walk inside and there's a room with a bar, two dining rooms, and a garden oasis. They also have a dog-friendly patio.

From the moment you sit down, the servers warmly welcome you and help keep the flow of the courses natural.

The menu is seasonal and organized around four courses and sides. Every dish we ordered was superbly crafted, but the standouts were the Gingered Koginut Squash Soup, Heirloom Tomato Carpaccio, and Braised Lamb Ragu. All three were delicious and dishes we'll crave.

The bread to start was warm and tasty. The trio of sorbet for dessert was a great way to end the evening.

To drink, my friend enjoyed their negroni and I the Virginia Peach. They have a well curated wine program and the French Sauvignon Blanc was unique and refreeshing.

Had the most amazing dinner at Annabelle last month. The dishes were truly exceptional, and the service was somehow even better! The dinning room was gorgeous and the overall guess experience was top tier from Dina and Alison. I definitely recommend starting with the crudo. Chef Jordan, Chef Michael, and Chef Bella really know what they are doing!!! The whole team at Annabelle works really hard and it shows. Love this place!!!
