Three of us had dinner last night. Food was great and service was good. The atmosphere was very loud. The cost of drinks and wine were excessive! LeCole Cabernet was $25 a glass with maybe 6oz pour for a bottle that costs about $30 from a Walla Walla WA winery. Expect paying about $120 per person.

This place was pretty bad. We visited yesterday for Thanksgiving for a 7:45 dinner reservation and regret the experience. The restaurant is so beautiful, the lighting strategy, decor, mix of simple lines, and texture of the furniture is well done. Everything else was subpar, most especially the service. Our waiter left us alone without checking in on us for various points of extended time. We were served a salad course and the food sat in front of us for nearly 15 minutes before the waiter came back and realized that WE DID NOT HAVE FORKS TO EAT WITH!!! While our waiter was lost other staff was walking by us, making eye contact and ignoring us as they just kept going. We were interested in a dessert wine which triggered the company of a wine sommelier who went into a long winded and mispronounced rant about a Sicilian wine we were interested in having. When he realized that we speak Italian, he finally dropped the act and answered the question about whether the one wine would be much sweeter than another (nice guy just putting on a performance of some sort). We extend some grace to the staff because it was a holiday and they were working with us instead of home with their families, but we were treated poorly. We note this especially because we observed that the staff gave complimentary cookies to all parting patrons at the end of their meals and we DID NOT GET COOKIES!!!! Our turkey entre was so bad; the turkey had an over reduced/burnt fennel/bitter taste. A sampling of sides was part of the pre-fixed menu: carrots, stuffing, and Brussels sprouts. The Brussels sprouts were not charred, they were burnt, the stuffing did have an acceptable texture but no flavor or seasoning of any sort, the carrots were fine. We also had the grilled roseda angus steak which was very good and cooked to our exact requested temperature. Our bill was $388 which included a 20% service charge for pay equity, we tipped $60 on top of that out of grace given the holiday, but the staff was so bad; they forgot about us, they ignored us, and they treated us differently than other guests (cookies). Also, there was a young lady working who had bright red highlights in her hair who attempted to collect our plates while we were still eating which caused a perplexed look from us and she excused herself but seemed uncomfortable somehow. Also, this same individual was literally slamming the plates onto the tables she was setting around us. We hate how we were treated, we are not snobs, we are regular hard working people who did not have time to make thanksgiving and chose to eat out. We observed some snobbery from many other guests, we observed how some of the other guests were dismissive and unkind to some of the staff, yet those guest seem to have received good service and attention, and cookies!

Wonderful!
Enjoyed every minute of being there. Oysters were fresh and delicious, paired with cava 10/10.
For the main course I took pork steak and it was amazing! The most tasty pork I have ever eaten. Outside terrace is amazing as well. Definitely will visit again when back to DC.

The food was beautiful in appearance, but I have had a more tasteful experiences elsewhere. The service was excellent, staff was attentive however, my husband just happened to view his account a week later and noticed we that we were charged double. We are still unsure if it was accidental?. We had to call the restaurant to inform after we contacted the CC company. It was resolved a couple of days later, but Yikes!

We had an 8pm reservation and showed up right on time. The host told us that the table still wasn't ready and that we should have a seat at the bar and order a drink while we waited. However, there weren't two seats together at the bar so she awkwardly put two bar chairs back to back so we didn't really have any space to actually enjoy the bar. We ended up getting two drinks which were fine but we kept getting told by one employee that we would be seated soon and that the table was just finishing signing the check. We kept sitting until 8:30 when we still weren't sat, 30 minutes after our reservation was set for before we asked the bartender to close out our tab. The two drinks ended up being $50 and the staff seemed to show no sympathy towards us as we informed them that we would be going elsewhere. I felt forced into buying the drinks and then we just left hungry without ever having a table. I was extremely disappointed with this experience so if you go here even with a reservation, don't expect to be seated anywhere near that time.

This was one of the best dining experiences ever had. The maitre'd was so knowledgeable of the menu and flavor pairings. The service was impeccable, and the food was exquisite! And I had the great pleasure of ushering in soft shell crab season there. I can't wait to return!

It’s hard to over-praise Annabelle. When Restaurant Nora closed we were sad and a bit concerned that the location would re-open as something less noteworthy. However, Annabelle has proven to be one of our favorite restaurants ever, carrying on the spirit of Nora’s seasonal menus, yet breaking new ground with chef Ruta’s American eclectic dishes and an always delightful choice of modern and occasionally deconstructed desserts. We are so happy and grateful for how Ashok Bajaj has updated and expanded the space. For birthdays and special occasions, Annabelle is nearly always our first choice in DC.

It's hard to say what was better - the food or the service! Both were exceptional. I'd highly recommend Annabelle's to anyone who is looking for a special night out.

TLDR: The food is not worth the cost at all. I had better food at silver diner. Great environment though.Came here for a nice dinner with my partner and had the steak and lamb. The food was incredibly underwhelming - with the lamb actually being disgusting to eat/made me nauseous smelling/eating it. The steak was fine - but I literally had better steak at Silver Diner and certainly did not warrant the $42 price tag. My first and last time visiting this establishment.
