I really wanted to love this cafe, but a few things threw me off. The prices seemed affordable at first, but after the unexpected 12% service charge and DC’s already high taxes, my total was a lot higher than I expected. That said, my scallion pancake sandwich was really good—the sauce added so much extra flavor! The drip coffee was also solid, and the location is great. I’d love to see them cut down on these extra fees, though, because the cafe itself is gorgeous inside....
I just had the literal best experience. I did not catch my server's name, but I went in to the cafe and asked for a matcha latte and because I love Lavender, asked if they happened to have lavender syrup. I was expecting a no, but there was the most wonderful barrista/server/human who volunteered to make me lavender syrup FROM SCRATCH! And it came out so so so good!! Thank you so much! After a long walk down to the National Mall, I decided to stop by this spot, fully set on ordering the fish sandwich. To my surprise, they were out of it, so I opted for the Rangoon Crab Dip and French fries instead—and I’m so glad I did!
