We love tiki bars, and came here on a friends recommendation. I’m so glad we took the time to head here. The drinks are so good and the happy hour specials include a lot of classics. I really enjoyed the pina coladas and the Captain Cody. The food was also VERY good but do know it’s about appetizer size. Our server was also really nice and attentive to our large party.

I am terribly sad it is closing down. Perhaps the only place where you could hear Don Ho in the background. The happy hour drinks are serious, and you have until the 26th to enjoy them.I'm hoping to get back for the chicken sliders before they are gone.

We love this place. It's a must !! Drinks and food are the best. Great atmosphere!

Drinks very good, one wasn’t great — took one sip and tried to send back. Was super apologetic. Place was empty. Waiter took back and advised on next drink. Ordered a bunch more due to great service. Ended up being charged for original terrible drink; was explained they don’t comp drinks — despite lack of warnings. Not worth the price or bad service.

Have been here a few times and they have great drinks. However, my most recent experience left a bitter taste in my mouth. I arrived much earlier than my friends I was going to meet up with so I told the bouncer I would just be sitting at the bar waiting. They said “oh you can’t sit there by yourself, you need to wait outside”. They then proceeded to not let me in…since when are single people discriminated against? Absolutely appalling. Needless to say I will never be going here again. Never experienced such treatment.

LOVE LOVE LOVE this spot!! Tiki vibes were immaculate, drinks were perfectly curated, and the the staff were friendly and knowledgeable

Last night they refused to seat us and were incredibly rude. We were a group of 7 and asked to be sat outside (a few members of our group are cautious about eating indoors still and there was plenty of patio space). They said that they don’t move tables so they couldn’t accommodate 7 of us outside but that they had a table inside. We said no thank you and walked outside. After discussing with members of our group, we decided that we could seat inside afterall. The manager came back and said “I’m not going to sit you inside after you said you would leave if we didn’t have an outside table”.Rude and disrespectful.

We liked the drinks but there was no mention of coco lopez used in the Jungle Room Experience, which the bartender confirmed with us. If you have any nut or coconut allergies, definitely confirm with the bartender because this one wasn't marked on the menu. Still worth a taste if you prefer something like a Pina colada but different. If you like Jamaican funk in your tiki, the truck bed funeral hit the spot too. The mezcal was subtle despite being listed as #1 for ingredients; nonetheless a great drink for sure and well balanced.

This place is a lot of fun and comes packed with all the standard tiki favorites. The theming is on point, the drinks are suitably over-the-top, and there's tons of menu variety. The only weak spot is the food, which is overpriced for what it is. Overall, however, I definitely recommend it.

I’ve been to Archipelago several times and I love the food, drinks, and vibes. So much so that I suggested it as a place to catch up with some friends a few weeks ago. However, there was a chance that a friend would be joining who’s under 21. So, to be on the safe side, I texted the burner number provided on the website asking if minors were allowed. I received this answer: “Children with parents always cool, roving bands of unaccompanied children however may be detained at customs.” I took this to mean that minors are allowed in.When the day came, I arrived a little early so I sat down, and ordered a drink and plate of nachos for the table. My friends showed up a few minutes later. Although the friend under 21 wasn’t able to make it after all, a friend who is 22 did join but he forgot his ID. I didn’t think this would be a problem, since he’s not a minor, just an adult who forgot his ID. He had a photo of his ID, but the hostess wouldn’t accept it and turned him away. He wasn’t even allowed in without a valid ID. So I ended up paying $45 (including tip) for a drink and nachos that none of us were able to enjoy, and leaving 10 minutes after I had sat down, all because my friend wasn’t allowed in.Archipelago, please be more clear about who is and who is not allowed in. If minors are allowed in, then why was my friend, who is over 21, not allowed in just because he didn’t have a valid ID? I certainly understand you not wanting to serve him alcohol without a valid ID. But to not even let him in after you said that minors were allowed?? It’s contradictory. So that’s why I’m giving 3 stars instead of 5, even though I do recommend the restaurant in all other regards (as long as everyone is 21+ and has valid IDs!!!). It was just a really disappointing experience and it’s made me think twice about inviting people again.

Great tiki bar, but their drinks are definitely on the sweeter side, even for a tiki bar. Service was a little spotty at first but fine in the end. Nice cozy patio. Very cool interior with lots of vintage tiki-style decor. Nice place to stop by, wouldn't necessarily spend the whole evening here or risk a tooth ache and heartburn, but just a great spot for sure.

Really great vibe, fun and delicious drinks that are reasonably priced for DC - will definitely be returning!

Cocktails are delicious and in fun glasses, but they are pricey. The staff is very friendly and the decor looks amazing!

Food and drinks were great. Unfortunately saw a cockroach inside the restaurant, which made the experience not as great as I would’ve liked it to be…

A favorite neighborhood spot to have a great (and well garnished!) tiki drink on the patio. I love the Dan Dan noodles.
