I had high hopes, but this place was average. The baked goods, like the cakes and cupcakes, are very moist. However, the flavors are not very bold nor distinct. For example, I tried the cherry blossom cupcake, & except for the pink frosting, I wouldn't have known it was anything but a common generic cupcake flavor. It might as well have been a vanilla cupcake with pink frosting.I also tried the Vietnamese iced coffee. Since this location is vegan, it was make with oatmilk, which I didn't care for. It had a yucky after taste to me.

It’s so great to have an entire bakery dedicated to being Vegan. They have a good selection of cookies, cupcakes, cakes, brownies, pies and ice cream cookies and coffee. We had a cupcake and slice of cake and an iced coffee. The cupcake was delicious and moist one of my favorites I’ve ever had, the cake was dense and super sweet I would say it’s overly sweet as you cannot finish it. The iced coffee was also way!!! To sweet! Couldn’t taste the coffee flavor. The space is smaller connected to several other food places.

Just popped in and got a vegan ginger snap. Was a little skeptical bc I am not a vegan, but was pleasantly surprised by both the flavor and texture of the cookie! Will definitely be going back :)

This was probably the only place with endless vegan options in DC as far as desserts goes. It was blissfully overwhelming. I asked the SA for what the popular options were. She told me that for cakes the Vietnamese coffee cake, cookies: the Brooke, the chocolate oat cookie, and snickerdoodle and the cupcakes in general. I was eyeing the cake and decided to purchase the first two cookies as well. I sampled some of the Vietnamese iced coffee which was good, but on the sweet side for having with the cake. I ordered an almond milk cappuccino which was fantastic. The cake was alright, the texture was good, a lot vegan cakes tend to be dense but it was like an ordinary cake. The frosting was on the light side. The cake didn't have any distinct taste of spices that I was looking for as Vietnamese coffee and tea tends to have. It was just sweet. I'm hoping the cookies are more promising.

Bakeshop Vegan. I think not only the greatest Vegan bakery in the world, but maybe the most wonderful bakery on the planet. You see, no animal parts, just plants and delicious food! Very delicious. Try this place out as a destination when you are visiting DC.

This is a nice, trendy bakery tucked on the back alley of Grace Street in Georgetown. Overall an OK experience. They produce a variety of baked goods, coffee, and desserts including cookies, cakes, frozen treats and most notably cupcakes. I purchased cupcakes on this visit and while they weren't bad cupcakes I didn't leave wanting more. Again, not a bad experience, however with three other competitors within walking distance from this shop who also serve cupcakes and baked goods I didn't leave feeling a sense that I would return to purchase cupcakes. I would have liked the cupcake to be composed of a better cake and icing quality. It could be that because they produce so many different baked goods they don't necessarily perfect a particular items and certainly not the cupcakes. I'll return if I'm in the area again however I'll try different menu items. Give them a try for yourself. Enjoy.

LOVE this place! I had no idea it existed until I wandered by. The cookie dough cake was incredible. 10/10 I’ll be coming back

I stoped into Bakeshop once again to sample some of their other baked goods: upon entry, I was warmly greeted by one of their employees, and she immediately asked me if I needed any recommendations. I came in wanting to try a slice of their Peanut Butter Chocolate Pie, which I'd heard rave reviews about, but they didn't have that in that day, as they were phasing in their Pumpkin Pie for the holiday season.Instead, I picked up two slices of different-flavored layer cakes: Pumpkin and Taro (both $7). The Pumpkin Cake was rich and moist, with a nice fall-spice flavor, but I found the frosting to be a bit grainy and one-note in flavor (just plain sweet, with no vanilla or cream-cheese taste, which would have elevated the flavor profile). I also found it really dense after just a couple of bites, so I would definitely share this with someone! The Taro Cake really surprised me: it's a beautiful violet color, with a lavender whipped frosting. The frosting was lighter and much less grainy than the one on the Pumpkin Cake, and it had a slight hint of taro flavor (the best way I can describe it is kind of an earthy vanilla taste - I personally find it delicious). The cake itself was rich and moist, with a more pronounced taro flavor (although personally, I would have upped that flavor even more, since I love it so much). All in all, I think that this is a great spot to grab a vegan dessert, but it's definitely a bit pricey, and as a non-vegan, I do taste some vital differences between some of their products and, say, the standard version of those baked goods made with animal products (I know it's not a fair comparison, but I HAVE had amazing vegan baked goods). I would say that this is definitely a must-try spot for vegans, and even non-vegans would enjoy some of their more unique products, such as their Cookie Dough and Taro Layer Cakes, as well as slices of their decadent pies!

I ate three of these and my coworkers (all military and definitely NOT vegan) enjoyed the others. Everyone thought they were delicious! Customer service was also superb, the girl at the counter helped me pick out one of each of the best flavors. Highly recommend this spot! They also have cute merch!

This Bakeshop location is in a great part of Georgetown. I loved how vegan-friendly it was - that is what brought us over after a trip to the Georgetown DMV. The staff was friendly and the food was delicious. Iced latte was excellent. There were many more things I wanted to try so I look forward to coming back!

Tucked away in a little alley in Georgetown. They have a great variety of cake slices, cupcakes, cookies, and coffee, with gluten-free and vegan options! I grabbed a slice of Vietnamese coffee cake (devil's food cake with coffee whipped cream). It was ok - the whipped cream had some coffee flavor but was overpowered by the chocolate cake. However, the texture of the cake and cream was great. The Georgetown location has a wonderful dine-in space shared between a few restaurants. I came on a weekday afternoon and was able to sit down and do some work.

Has options that are both vegan and gluten-free. I chose the fresh delicious brownie. Sat in the quaint backyard patio. Counter help Aug 27 afternoon was prompt, friendly, enthusiastic, and helpful.
