The pork short ribs were just fantastic and the people there are so kind. A really cozy, yummy neighborhood spot!

I ordered Honduran tacos (fried flautas) and one torta (sandwich) on 8/18/2025. Unfortunately, I found flies in my food.
I live 45 minutes away from this restaurant, and it was extremely frustrating to get home, discover the issue, and not be able to eat my dinner. On 8/19/2025, I returned to the restaurant to address the problem. Instead of offering an apology, the staff told me they had to speak with the owner first, and they seemed irritated, claiming they had never received a complaint before—except for mine.
This lack of concern for a serious health and safety issue is deeply disappointing. Not only was my meal ruined, but I also had to spend additional time and effort driving back, only to be treated without courtesy or understanding.
Because of this experience, I cannot recommend this restaurant. I will also be contacting the Department of Health so they can conduct an inspection to ensure food safety standards are being met.

Amazing
In my opinion, Benito’s Place has some of the best papusas in the city, but the rest of the menu shouldn’t be ignored either! Fried plantains and bistec were also great choices. Staff is friendly. My only complaint is that several customers were watching videos on their phones in the restaurant without headphones, which was loud and disturbing. I would expect staff to politely handle that kind of situation.

Hands down the best Pollo con Tajadas I’ve ever had in my life! I used to come here weekly when I worked in DC, and now I still make the 30-minute drive just to get my fix. The flavor, the freshness, the authenticity—everything is spot on. If you’re looking for real, authentic Honduran food, this is the place to go. Absolutely worth every mile!

Maybe they give better food to the Gringos that are giving this place high reviews.
Service was subpar. My food tasted sour and spoiled, both the chicken and cream used. It just wasn't good, authentic or felt it was made with love and respect. I ate 3 fork fulls.
Oh and I was charged for plantains that never came to the table.
Signed a human that lived in, not visited over 4 Mexican states and all over Central and South America.
It’s tiny, maybe 20 seats, but always good, the price isn’t bad, and it’s always hot and fast!

Cute little shop. Very welcoming. The food is great. Ordered 3 pupusas. They were piping hot and fresh. Also got the fried tilapia with rice, beans, and salad. This was great! The fish tasted fresh, tender and well seasoned.
