Ambiance for the event was great. An excellent place for a sweater and onesie themed "house party".
A Afro-Latin Party called Adobo made this place the way it is. I like the vast space and rooftop bar that it has. I dislike bigcheifs security that they have. They dont allow you to come in and out of the establishment even though you payed money to come in for whatever event is being hosted at that time.
Was attacked by security after ordering food. Yelled at and threatened. Never have I experience something like this before.
Great place, rooftop and super reliable management! Their water is Peter decent too for a bar. There was not a heavy taste which made it easier to drink.
I love this place & good customer service.
Pretty spacious and I love the industrial yet cozy feel of the place. The owners are very nice. I love that they specialize in older drinks. It's a great event space as well.

Great roof top and bar. Great DJ. Cool atmosphere.
I visited to check out a ticketed event. Security needs to be better organized. They had one guy checking IDs, but two lines coming from both directions on the block. Had I not already purchased my ticket I would've gone home. It really put a damper on my first impression. Once inside the venue is pretty spacious. The bartenders did a great job of keeping up with the crowds. I didn't make it to the rooftop, unfortunately.
Great space. The bottom area is spacious and has 2 bars. The rooftop has seating with another bar. I'm only giving 3 stars because of the horrific fish smell on the rooftop.
I attending an event at this location Saturday July 27 in the which my designer purse was stolen and I was injured by the security staff including the head security. At the end of the event my family member carrying my clutch noticed it was gone I became extremely upset as it had all my information as well as my daughters information in it. I began looking for it with my friend. As we are looking for it we were grabbed by 3 security guards and kicked out of the venue, per the head security we were taken out because an individual we were with was “wildin†and “they take anyone that gets in their way†in which they took my friend and I out who were looking for the purse not the individual “wildinâ€, 2 of the bodyguards brutally grabbed me as we are trying to figure out why, they take me out the back way of the establishment Body slammed me face down where I encountered injuries inside my mouth, heavy bruising through out my right arm from the force used by them grabbing me (finger tip/ hand print bruises) and a broken nail in which my whole nail has come off. (I am a female, 5'4 and weigh 140, while they are 5'9 and weight 190 - 200+ Their force was extremely uncalled for and there is witnesses and video of it.) I arrived to the location today Sunday looking for my belongings in which the head security guard said he had it when he saw me and then that he didn't. I asked who was security yesterday to the 2 other gentlemen standing there because of my noticeable injuries and one of them advised it wasn't them that 3rd party security was contracted because they are a bar and from my understanding they do not have the training to handle club like events nor do they put their hands on anyone. In the video recorded by my friends who attending the event it shows that they were in fact the security guards on video who did this to me and they were lying to cover themselves. He pulled his head security to the side and advised
Chop Bar DC was an amazing event and Chef Eric did an amazing job.
