Buck's is the kind of place every neighborhood deserves. Good to great food, great drinks, and the warmest atmosphere. Must have dishes are the carrot dip and the broccoli slaw. If there is any room for improvement, it's to tell the servers to engage more. The service is better than average, but it feels like they have been told to be as unintrusive as possible, and it seems to have leaned a little too far lately to what I'd best describe as shyness? It's a little weird. But make no mistake, Buck's gives you all the feelings that make you glad to go out to eat.

It's a great place to go to, but their online menu kinda sucks now.

Buck’s Fishing & Camping was one of the most overpriced, mediocre restaurants I’ve ever been to.Not only was my burger one of the worst burgers I’ve had in awhile — and it’s hard to mess up a burger — it was $25 with condiments. In addition, onion rings are $12, and fries are $9. Cocktails are around $20, while desserts are $15 What?!I get that things are expensive these days, but this restaurant pushes it to the excess. It would be one thing if they priced correlated to top of the line food, but it does not.I will never dine here again and recommend that others stay away.

I'm just a simple 12 year old craving some Steak and Frites for dinner. So me and my father go to Buck's Fishing and Camping diner. We enter and they seat us, but the nice man who is such a great manager, and just makes the atmosphere awesome, says that the grill is disabled, and we can't make steak and frites. I was ready to walk out. Then he said maybe the grill could handle a steak made on it, made special. Amazing service. We order appetizers first, Onion Rings, the crisp, the taste, just spectacular. Then food comes, my steak. I ordered medium rare, and OMG. Such good food. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I highly recommend recommend this place. ?Kid-friendliness: The manager loves to see children liking his restaurant. You gotta tip this guy.

Food was tasty. Although the service is the WORST I’ve seen for a long time. First of all, we came in and request three high chairs. The staff were shocked and almost in disbelief our request. After we sit down, when I asked if they could bring us three kids cup. The answer was” we don’t have it, I need to check”?! Not to mention, I had to remind the staff not to place sharp knife in front the babies…The food is good. If you plan to come with kids, definitely give a second thought. It is NOT kids friendly restaurant.Kid-friendliness: Not a kid friendly restaurant, service needs to be much improved.

We had a fantastic dinner here. Courtney and the staff were so friendly and accommodating. We had the fried oysters, cabbage Gorgonzola salad, the famous big steak, brussel sprouts, the burger and the chocolate cake & raspberry sorbet. All of the food was 10/10. The oysters were great, the salad was delicious. The big steak was the star and cooked perfectly (tasty fries too). The burger was also great, highly recommend getting it with the smoky spicy mayo. The Luna was the perfect cocktail.

We went there with friends for dinner last night and had a great time. I had the Luna as a cocktail and ordered the chicken dish. It was really tasty. My husband had the fish and chips and enjoyed it too. Our waitress was very attentive. Definitely coming back!Parking: Plenty of street parking and also parking in the back of the restaurant.

What an amazing treat! The food was incredible, from fried oysters to pork chops. Even vegetarian options. It was a beautiful space with just enough room to get around.

I finally made it to Buck’s Camping and Fishing, and I instantly fell in love with it. It is a true gem in DC. The food was absolutely delicious. The cocktails were excellent. The ambiance is intoxicating. Manager Courtney is a delight! Inloved my experience and totally get why Washington Post food critic Tom Sietsema loves this place. Recommending it to all of my local friends.
