I went here out of journalistic curiosity, and although my plate did have two used Zyns on it (no, I'm not joking), the beef tallow fries and lamb ribs were so good it nearly made up for it. It helped that the food was served on a fresh plate.
Very special restaurant in DC. Service was great and the ambience inside is something you don't get to see everyday. Music that matches the nice style of the restaurant. Finally a place where you can taste real coffee. Totally recommended, I will come back for sure!
I had an incredible time with an old friend. Butterworth’s has great cocktails, great food, and great patrons — one of whom brought in CS Lewis’s The Abolition of Man and was delighted to talk about it, another whom gave us her olives and made conversation about our Midwestern roots, and the other who insisted that we stay in touch because she saw great things ahead in our futures.
